Forum: PC Version Technical Support - Topic: Error message "invalid skin file (error line %i in XML)" ....Win Vista. Help

Hi. I hav'nt been on here in a while.

I was wondering if someone could help me in something that is oprobably quite a small problem.

I keep getting the error message "invalid skin file (error line %i in XML)"

I just installed windows vista onto my new PC and downloaded VDJ but keep getting this message. Tried a few things myself but no luck.

Any1 got the idea to fix and help my problem.

Did you upgraded from XP to Vista or is is a clean install?
Which version do you use?

Try this
Uninstall the software in control panel/add remove software.
Then go to my documents/virtualdj/skins and delete all of them.
Then reinstall the software again with a fresh install from your download center.

I am getting the same error when I try to set up virtual dj on a non admin account.

Disable UAC on Vista, Start,Control Panel, Users click on your username and disable UAC (User Access Control). Also make sure your user is set to administrator.

Although no one was right you did give me the heelp i needed to get the right answer discobrian.

Iam pretty sure i only installed VDJ on my seperate user account and i sign in as the administrator so when i sign in all the VDJ files are on the VDJ user account.

I wanted to do the windows tweak thingy so i could have windows running as efficientluy as possible. All good.

Well you didn't said that on your first post so we could not help you. You must use VDJ on the account you installed it ;)

yeah no just added the "yeah no" as i did'nt think the "blush" was appropriate or something like that, i can't remember exactly it was because of, well i could be here all day, umm don't know,

^^that does'nt make sense but in my own head it does.

oh no that must sound so mental. Oh well.



Yeah i was thinking that and then did'nt write it for some reason.
