Forum: Wishes and new features - Topic: Would like to be able to choose where a video/picture plays in a song.

I love the fact that we can place a video of our choice and "link" it to a song..

To make it really usefull it would great if we could choose when that video or picture comes up.
I was thinking maybe attaching it too a cue point? or something..

Here's what i'm picturing.. You have a few songs without a video ..

song 1 starts: and 30 seconds later a picture (on cue) comes ups, during the chorus (on cue) another picture shows up, etc etc.. A montage of pictures all related to the music and just for that song.

song 2 starts: on cue a small video clip runs, then on the next cue a different video clip, during the chorus another video clip and it repeats untill the chorus is over, then another video clip..

song 3: You have the original good quality and edited song you like to use but no video.. you find a good matching video (from netsearch, youtube, whatever), but it doesnt sync up (maybe the video is from a live performance & the audio portion sucks)..
You link the video to the song and because you can set the exact cue, you can actually sync the singing with the music!

Basically if the music cues could be linked to a video or picture file, we could create or own music videos.

does this make sense? Good idea or not?

either what i wrote doesnt make sense,
or people dont think we need something like this..

I truly believe it would send VDJ to a whole another level, and provide some major creativity options to the average DJ.

No.. That plug in is like a mix between SBDJ's Slideshow & Random clipbank.. very nice, but I'm thinking I would like something even more advanced. (one day LOL)

Right now we can only link one video to a song..

I would like to be able to link a video or a picture to song..
and then to make things crazy, link multiple videos and/or pictures to the cue points of a song..
IE: a person could set say 10 cue points, and as they went by, a different video or picture would start playing..

If I ever get some time, maybe i can create a youtube video showing what I'm talking about, and show why I think this would be a major improvement!

I totally see where your coming from here and i think its an excellent idea.

The ability to link pictures and/or video clips to the VDJ cue points
(in my opinion)
would take VDJ to a whole new level!

(dont know how hard it would be to implement though..)
