Tried to make 6.02 for Windows work using bootcamp. It too has a video freeze problem. Lots of hours trying to make it work. So far no luck, plus my fire box won't work in the windows, as well. When first released for Mac, some posted that they will fix the video freeze issue in the next release. Any one know a time line. I'm back to using 5.21 now for the Mac. It's great but the new product has such great enhancements. The windows version is still ten times better for us video jocks. Maybe I'll invest in Windows 7 and see if it solves the freeze problem goes away. .. or maybe not. As much money as i have invested trying to solve the windows issue, I could have purchased a low end windows laptop. The beat goes on! |

WHat was the video problem exactly? I plan on playing videos. Now that I read your post, I'm reconsidering. |

Videos freeze for a few seconds each time you do a transition. Also, within transitions the videos that are inset will freeze. I'm using an early 2008 macbook pro which has an nivda video card. this particular card has been known to have problems with VDJ. Also, video will freeze when you are trying to cue the video on with the scratch wheel. I have the same issue with the windows version running on my mac using bootcamp and xp. By the way, for video, the windows version is infinitely better. More transitions, ability to place text on the screen over the video and the ability to put your logo as "bug" in a corner of the screen. I have converted off audio and now mix video at all of my events using audio cuts only if i don't have video version. If you would like to see my video mix in action, there's a YouTube video promo I did from a house party I did in Orlando about a month ago. Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vY-CZ4E6ky0 I"m using 5.21 Mac for my gigs and having no problems. Hope VDJ 6 will eventually be ready for prime time or I can get the windows version working on my Mac. it is freezing as well. When version six came out of beta. This was the second post. apparently from the developer: "or the mac version, version 6 is now not a beta version anymore. This means that the version is now stable, and can be used live instead of version 5.2. Still, the video on v6.0.2 can sometimes freeze for a few ms during looping or backspining. If you're using a lot of video in your set, you might want to test that this does not happen on your system before going live. We'll fix this in the next release, but in the meantime if you have this problem, you might want to consider using 5.2.1 for the video gigs. Or, better, if you're really doing a lot of video gigs, you should probably consider installing bootcamp and running the Windows version. Because VirtualDJ-PC uses some video optimizations available for games, that are just not available on Mac OS.: |

hey wen mixing video if you want to play a song but dont have video for it Does Vdj have some kind of visuals that would go along with the music? I know Serato does but theyre WAYYYY expensive looking for a less pricey alternative |

We all gave up talking about it because instead of Atomix actually fixing their software and releasing 6.03/6.1, they just delete the threads of us complaining. |
|
No thread is deleted for your information. For those who assume they use trial (however there is no legit trial version for mac currently), please take a time to register your serial for your pro version if you have it. You will notice that the software will perform better and the forum will be a bit different to you. Regards;) |

Hi there, i've just bought a macbook pro and have exactly the same problem with videos freezing especially when i use the 'loop' function, is there a bug fix coming soon? thanks |
|
Ummm.... If no thread has been deleted, then where did the 6.0 thread go with all the comments and complaints? Ive not been on in about a week or so, it was here then? If the complaints arnt justified then there should be no problem responding to them, but since a lot of them ARE justified, then fix the damn software... At the very least, give us a heads up as to whats being done... |
|
Why would i ask where it went if i could see it???? Im not the only person who thought it had been deleted... |
|
There's not actually an error or crash message, the music is fine but when looping or loading a track the video freezes for a second which it never used to do on the PC version, i've played with the latency settings and it makes no odds, i actually took my new macbook pro back and swapped it for a faster model which has made no difference, love virtual DJ but didn't expect these mac issues ... thanks in advance for your help |

i have a macpro @ 2.8 with snow leopard, and i was considering buy the vci-100 and VDJ, and the feedback that i got for this midi is that the only version that support the sensitive plate is 6.02, but after reading in several topics about the video issue, i have to reconsider to buy the VDj, it is 300 USD, and the minimum thing that i expect for those 300 usd is that all the functionality work. Some want to use bootcamp and do strange things... i just switched from PC and considering again use windows in my mac...no way. which sw do u recommend for mac without issues? |

quote/ For those who assume they use trial (however there is no legit trial version for mac currently), please take a time to register your serial for your pro version if you have it. /endQuote I have said it before and I will say it again. You won't get a dime out of me until you can get VDJ working properly and I'm not laughed out of whatever location my next video gig is at. I WILL however be the first one who ponies up the cash when I can safely use your software to make my living. Right now that is impossible, at least at the level of professionalism that my clients demand. |

Of course there is no MAC DEMO, nobody in there right mind is going to make a demo available for something that doesnt work... If VDJ for Mac was stable enough for them to make a profit on it, you can bet that there would be a demo... |

Guys I am an avid supporter of Virtual DJ and have recommended it to many friends, of late however it has left me looking silly amongst my piers. I am not a bedroom DJ - I dj to large crowds in high profile venues. I only say this to point out I consider myself a professional. Three fundamental problems with version 6 that are considerable in my opinion. A playback issue in a DJ software!!! - how is it even usable. This should be the number 1 focus for development at the moment and should never have come out of beta until it has been resolved. I cant believe I have to even write this. This makes video unusable in my opinion on Mac. Lets not beat around the bush its a core function and a known issue that was allowed to make into full release. Secondly the Karaoke issue where files just disappear from the browser, thus Karaoke on Mac is also unusable. This made it from version 5 into version 6 Playlists - Once a playlist in Mac is created it CANNOT be amended. this issue also made it from version 5 to version 6. The playlist issue I live with but the other two are considerable and should be addressed immediately. |

the new vmware fusion is out tomorrow with support for windows 7 if i am not mistaken. I am just itching to try it with VDJ, so no more bootcamp. And as Fusion can mirror mac, all files are kept nicely in place. wahoo. There is no hope for mac vdj lol been saying it for months, same with others, even if they brought out a release tomorrow with new fix, i would not dare use it on my club gigs, all faith has been lost. Maybe the new ITCH can come to my rescue, i hear it will have beatgrids, effects and is ultra stable and may work with many other controllers. Been reading all the hype on serato forums and looks very promising, maybe evan video. I have already lost VDJ business by persuaded 2 other DJ;s not to buy VDJ for mac because they will regret it. I am dying for a decent alternative, i.e. Itch 2.0...plsplspls i hope its good. |
|
ptownDJ... 100% true... the unbelievable thing is that some "pro users" still requesting registrations for new mac users, thinking that they are using a beta or demo version... in other words... new mac users like me, have to make a blind-buy since there are no demo version at least if u don't buy the rmx... |
|
oks im pro now... im experimenting video issues... they seems black, or flip, what can i do? |
|
Any company that will not post a demo of their software is hiding something, PERIOD. VDJ mac is plagued with problems. I've been testing my 2 Denon HS5500's on a friends PC with v6.02, but I use mac and will not purchase this until I can test the mac version. The PC version is buggy too. I was following the video thread, the one that was deleated (yea, I know you only moved it, but you moved it to a registered user section because you are hiding the fact that the mac version sucks and is pissing off all your mac customers and don't want to prevent another mac sale) Atomix is scamming Mac sales by doing this. Its sad when the purpose of your product is sold out for money. What's the point of even being in business if you're not going to even try and make your product work right? DO NOT SUPPORT ATOMIX UNTIL THEY WILL SUPPORT YOU WITH A MAC DEMO. |

Sincerely Isra! Saludos |
