I WAS USING VIRTUAL DJ 5 AND USING THE SKIP BEAT, BUT NOW I HAVE 6 AND IT'S GONE. I KEEP HEARING PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT SEEK, GOTO, BUT I CAN'T FIND THEM.

ANY IDEA'S.

I think that you need to provide more detail. What do you mean by "skip beat" exactly? What button on the interface were you referring to? The transport buttons << and >> skip 16 beats, for example. I'm sure someone will chime in once you've explained clearly what you are trying to accomplish ;)

Also, please don't write your posts in CAPS, it indicates SHOUTING in forums.

To skip back/forward by a number of beats, use goto, e.g:

goto +1 will go forwards by 1 beat.
goto -1 will go back by 1 beat.

what i mean is this. i was using the skip beat fuction for chopping and screwing my music, but now it's gone. i looked on here and saw people saying use seek or goto, but when i go to mappers i can't find anything called seek and i can only see goto_cue 1 - 10.

sorry if it seems i'm being stupid.

You must map keys to these actions.

By default, CTRL + left/right arrow key is mapped to goto -1/+1 and CTRL+ SHIFT + left/rigth arrow key is mapped to goto -4/+4.

To map/change mappings:

  • Go to CONFIG -> Mappers

  • Choose the appropriate device from the drop-down list, e.g: Keyboard, Hercules DJ Console, etc. or Simple MIDI Wrapper for a MIDI capable controller that does not have built-in (Native) support.

  • Click the + (Add) button, then press the key/button or move the knob/slider that you wish to map.

  • Type an appropriate action in the Action: box, e.g: goto -1

ok im having the same problem i go to my configurations/mapers click on keyboard then create new key then i type ctrl+left arrow and in action i type goto-1 and it doesnt work am i doing it right

There needs to be a space between goto and -1
