I tried to just remove the .jpg via a rename and the file shows that it cannot be opened
Looked at my new cache file vs my old copy and looks like just the images were kept, SO looks like HP cyberlink backup just ignores the cache files BUMMER

playlist worked fine just being copied over,

So one question remains?
what is the Filename for History Could not find it with the other folders?

Cue v7.2 is an old and out of date version of the software. There have been many changes and improvements to the software since then (See http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/VirtualDJ_History.html ) - Numark Cue is now v7.3 (Should soon be updated to the latest v7.4 once approved by Numark.)

Please register your serial number on your profile page http://www.virtualdj.com/users/edit.html and then upgrade to the latest version: http://www.virtualdj.com/download/updates.html

If you have not purchased Cue then please support the software and its future development by purchasing it: http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html (Especially if you are a working DJ and are making money as a result of using it at your gigs.)

The .jpg files are cover art images for the files only. Removing the .jpg extension will not work because it is just a picture file. The actual cached audio files are/were stored in My Documents\VirtualDJ\Cache folder with the extension .vdjcache for audio or .vdjcachev for video. History is foumd in My Documents\Tracklisting

If possible, you should restore these files from your backup.

If you don't have a backup then unfortunately you will have to search for and download them all over again from scratch.

You should always backup your database, music collection and any other files that are important to you on a regular basis - Please see http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/How%20do%20I%20backup%20my%20VirtualDJ%20database%20and%20settings.html

NOTE: From the above, it looks like you are using an automated backup utility that backs up common types of file. VDJ cache files are not a common type and won't be recognised as audio files by it. In future, make sure that you set your backup software to backup ALL files in My Documents, regardless of type. You should also ensure that it set to backup all types of files you wish to keep (The defaults are usually aimed at typical home/office users and may not be sufficient for you.)

I had to reinstall virtual dj and had my cache files on a external drive do I just copy and paste the cache files to the VDJ cache file to get them back in the proper place?

I delete vdj7 because I upgrade to vdj8 now all of my files will have to rename again , Is there a way to restore the same settings that was In 7 ? Even my sampler is gone. Is this system online ? Can I download 7 and get back everything?
