Tema: Audio cutting out and then resuming (Soundcard issue)

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

Hi,

I've got a Pioneer DDJ-RB running the latest version of VDJ (Account is under our companies email). Latest Pionner drivers too.

When using the controller the audio seems to stop briefly and then resumes??

When this happens all faders/knobs still respond on screen and even the audio (green and orange levels) still light up on the controller. (to indicate it's still playing and sending/receiving data).

My supplier is blaming the laptop (meets all specs on VDJ's page). We've used two laptops and still happens, plus we've used a Numark Partymix controller on both and works flawlessly!

I was looking at buying another DDJ-RB (or now the 400) to confirm my theory.

Does this sound like a faulty soundcard in the Pioneer or am I missing something?

Hi,
just a quick suggestion;
1.have you tried using wasapi instead of the pioneer drivers?
2. could you post a screenshot of your audio settings, I think that might help in the fault diagnosis.

Best
Ray

Hi,

Just tried it and the sound is distorted!

Audio settings:

Cancel 'Exclusive Audio Access' I found that to distort on my laptop with the Denon MC4000. Use the wasapi drivers (windows based) not the Asio drivers. Uninstall the Pioneer drivers as RayPitman (above me) advised. I was advised also by KRadcliffe, as I experienced a similar thing with my MC4000 earlier in the year when I first purchased it. KRadcliffe is an extremely knowledgable person I've found, maybe he may be able to advise? (not saying others are not! Just when I needed help with mine, KRadcliffe was one of the first to help me out).

On your sound setup, go to Sounds in Control Panel
Go to Playback tab
Choose Speaker/Headphone and set that as Realtek (if that is your local based soundcard)
Ok, under Sounds tab, choose under Sound Scheme: No Sounds and Apply that.

Ok, open Virtual DJ, with your Pioneer connected.
Do the above, under Audio - No Exclusive Audio Access
Under the Sound setup - now choose Pioneer as the Soundcard (under Virtual DJ itself)
Make sure that Windows is not using the Pioneer though as the default soundcard, make sure that still shows as Realtek (or similar)
Guessing you using Windows 10?

Hope that helps.

If still failing, try an external usb soundcard, a cheap thing, then link some headfones to it, and try it, see if it still cuts out sound at intervals. Just an idea.

The Pioneer ASIO drivers should be fine if you have a powerful enough machine.

1 - Try increasing the latency in the Pioneer control panel
2 - Try another USB cable
3 - Check to see if your PC is suffering from DPC latency spikes

Thanks for your messages.

I'll give the adjusted settings / driver details a go tomorrow after work and trail it out over the next few days.

I did order a new cable a little while back (gold plated).

I'll also increase the latency.

How do I find out about the DPC latency spikes?

I have a ddj-rb and the ASIO drivers have been rock solid for me ..... even with the default latency.

Thing is every machine has different abilities when it comes to latency so run the program and see what it tells you.

Hi,

These are the results while VDJ isn't running and DDJ-RB not connected!

https://pasteboard.co/HN0wPju.png

https://pasteboard.co/HN0xgfU.png

Any suggestions on lowering this?

Update: After leaving the laptop on for 30 minutes or so it's saying real-time audio is fine.

I connect DDJ-RB and open VDJ then it goes back to red with

Wdf01000.sys at over 11,000 ISR count and storport.sys down to 1876.

I can't find anywhere to disable CPU throttling, even after looking at the step by step from a Google.

Did you check your computer manufacturer's website for updated drivers or bios updates?

There's also a post on Microsoft forums about this, although little solutions are offered there.
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-performance-winpc/wdf01000sys-latency-windows-10/41a8fbac-3c87-4b45-965d-9d6607f91ad9?auth=1
If driver updating didn't work, you might try the suggestion there to disable USB selective suspend and Link State Power Management.
(Keep in mind that this could negatively affect power usage though, so if it didn't change anything better to enable them again)

https://www.windowscentral.com/how-manage-power-throttling-windows-10 - follow the link / guide on this page. I did the steps too on my Windows 10 laptop, did help with the issue.

Hi,

There isn't an option to show Throttling on the task manager :/

probably lacking the latest updates from Microsoft or your laptop doesn't support the feature then.
