Tema: Rearrange an existing Playlist?
djnoaiPRO (legacy)Member since 2017
Build: 6646
I noticed that if you move a song in an existing playlist (not automix!!) that already exists in the playlist to another position,
it appears again in the old position when the playlist is called up again.
It is therefore not possible to rearrange the existing songs within a playlist.
You can only do it by deleting the song in the playlist and then moving it back to the desired location.

I mean, up until now, I was able to position songs anywhere at any time, and they stayed there. Can anyone verify that?

Thank very much.

I have just tested on my backup system with version 6616.
There it still works as before or expected.
In build changelog history 6636, it was also mentioned as a fix
>> -Fix playlists/virtual folders incorrectly saved when filtered and moving a track <<.
However, it does not work correctly in Early Access build 6636 and not in 6646! Both just tested.

So I'm waiting for a new update :-)

Works fine here. Is the folder in the original sort order (right-click on column header, reset sort order) ?

yes playlists in order works well here
just moving (and adding) when not in order fails

reason : VDJ can't know where to insert track (before or after track not in order) and either put it at end or near closed name or if it existed let it stay where it was (keeping the order)

@adion @ nicotiux: Sure, otherwise it can't work properly. It must of course be in the original sorting.

Do you also have Early Access 6646 or 6636 installed?
Did you install it via the automatic updater (there was a problem with 6636 the other day) or via manual download?
Isn't this point in the changelog of 6636 exactly my problem: -Fix playlists / virtual folders incorrectly saved when filtered and moving a track?

So that the test is the same:
I first go to any playlist on the left next to the directories under Playlists.
Then I move the first song to the second position, for example.
Important: Then I'll go to another playlist on the left! Not just to the right into the automix window !!
Then again on the same playlist and hey: the second song is back in the first position.

Mind you only with the version Early Access 6646 or 6636.
With the version 6616 it is still in the second position.
Strange, if that's only for me on 2 different laptops.

Tried on several computers, but works fine.
Do you have 'show only music/karaoke/video' enabled perhaps?

BINGO!!
Yes, I checked show only music!
If I tick it, then it works as intended!
When it's back: not anymore!
With the previous version, it didn't matter.

OK, thank you very much, then I will know as long as I have to set it.
Nevertheless it is a hidden bug ;-)

I keep saying: make sure you don't have to earn your money as a programmer. Bottomless pit ... if something works here, it no longer works at the other end ... :-)

Well, the problem with the previous version was that if you had video files in the playlist, moving a file without them visible would remove them from the playlist.

OK, thanks for the explanation!
Of course, it's not good at all when you work with videos.
Now I understand why it was programmed that way.
