Tópico: Feature Request - Add a full replica of Rekordbox / Pioneer hardware Beat FX

Hi team,

Since VirtualDJ is used by many club DJs, it would be amazing if you could add a dedicated effect pack that fully replicates all Rekordbox and Pioneer hardware Beat FX (like Helix, Vinyl Brake, Trans combo, and full FX Frequency controls).

Having these standard club effects built directly into VirtualDJ would make transitions much smoother for DJs moving from controllers to club setups.

I completely agree with you.

I use VirtualDJ with Pioneer club gear, and I often find myself looking for effects that are available on Pioneer mixers and Rekordbox but don’t exist in VirtualDJ in the same way. Effects such as Helix and Trans would be really useful.

VirtualDJ is already a very powerful platform, but having a dedicated Beat FX pack that closely replicates the Pioneer/Rekordbox effects would make it much easier for DJs who use both VirtualDJ and Pioneer club setups.

I’m sure I’m not the only one who would like to see this. If other DJs feel the same, please support the request or comment here so the VirtualDJ team can see how much interest there is.

Helix, Trans (named Cut in vdj) and Vinyl Brake are already available, so you'll need to be a bit more specific about which effects exactly you are missing.

I'm curious, which club setup are you using? I ask because I'm almost certain that the usual suspects (900NXS, 900NXS2, A9, etc), are all external-based mixers when used with VirtualDJ, and so the onboard effects would be what is available (i.e. none would be missing).
Even with the controllers that replicate that setup and use the software to mix (DDJ-FLX10,DDJ-1000), VirtualDJ has replicated all the effects shown on the faceplate.

It's only when using other (non-Pioneer/AlphaTheta) hardware or using VirtualDJ itself to do the mixing/effect processing), that expected Pioneer effects could be missing (Trans should exist btw as it is on the DDJ-FLX10).
 
It would be great to have effects like Echo, Loop Roll, Beat Spin, Noise, and Crush synced to the BPM.
 
All beat aware effects like Echo already sync to the BPM. Sound Color effects may be another matter (I don't use them much) but probably is mappable to BPM with a little effort.
 
Sorry, I think I didn’t explain myself very well in my previous comment.

When I play in a club using a Pioneer mixer, I really like the way its effects sound and behave. So when I go back to VirtualDJ, I’d like to be able to achieve exactly (or as close as possible) the same feeling and sound.

For example, Pioneer’s Trans is available in VirtualDJ as Cut, but to me it doesn’t sound exactly the same. The same applies to Helix: I found the BFX-EchoPitchUp effect, which comes quite close, but it still doesn’t have exactly the same sound and behavior as Pioneer’s Helix.
