10.) Practice how long it takes you to do the required two dozen tweaks to your current Windows setup. It's good practice. Bonus points if you can do them all without a written refference.

9.) Go through your song library and set some cue points on the songs you like to spin. Organize your stuff so when the mac version gets here, you'll be all set.

8.) Download the VDJ skins SDK, browse through the files and realize you have absolutely no business thinking that you could actually build a skin.

7.) Head over to the serato forums, harrass people and spread misinformation. Do a serato vs. vdj comparison as if Serato was still on version 1.4.

6.) Practice beat matching without using auto features or looking at waveforms. Yes, I'm being serious.

5.) Start your video collection. It's the future and you're gonna need some videos.

4.) Log on to the VDJ forums and help out some newbies, who might not have as much experience as us. Don't get mad at them when they ask what seem like really basic questions or try to do ridiculous things that would never fly in the real world.

3.) Start a DJ crew in your town. Gather some DJs you know, call yourself a crew and immediately start talking crap about all the other DJs in your town who are not in your crew. Also, try to jack their residencies from them. Bonus points if you jack their residencies and their girlfriends.

2.) Pimp out your myspace page. Gather up all the celebrity friend profiles that you can (real or not). Add them to your top 8. This will increase your credibility as a DJ. Bonus points if you feature pictures of you and celebrities on your myspace page. Extra bonus points if the pictures of you and the celebrites are photoshopped.

AND THE NUMBER ONE THING TO DO WHILE WAITING FOR THE MAC VERSION OF VDJ

1.) Log on to the mac forum here and post wild predictions about when you think the mac version will be released, as if you could possibly know exactly how long software development takes. Bonus points if you stand your ground even after being told, there is no way you *could* know when the mac version will drop.

It will probably have a release date around the 1st of April hehe.

Really I have no idea, I don't even own a Mac yet but I've got about £2000 I can spend on a new notebook and it's looking like it may be a Macbook, there so small. But will wait to see how everyone else gets on first, spec wise.

1st April is way too close considering Alpha, Beta...although I did predict V4 date.

Anyway....I spin in anticipation,

April 1st (April Fools Day or All Fools Day) is Apple's anniversary (this will be their 31st), so that might be a pretty cool day to launch the Mac version. =)

That's a month from tomorrow and I'd say probably enough time to come out of alpha testing and allow for public beta testing throughout March.

Bypassing a public beta test stage for an essentially 1.x version of software (since it's for a new platform) would be suicide IMO and may come back to haunt Atomix and Numarks credibility in the professional U.S. turntablist and dj circuit.

I've said several times that i don't think Numark would be too happy going any longer than 6 months from the original anticipated launch time of October 2006 and 3 months after the revised release date of "around Christmas" that we were told back in August 2006 .

That would mean a late March, hopefully no later than April 1st launch.
