Hi Guys,
I had a show this weekend, and had to use my pc and VDJ 5.0. After trying to play with it for 4 hours, using system restore, and reinstalling 5+ times, I could not get my timecodes to work on the PC side. So I rocked a gala event with old videos of elvis, benny goodman and Frank with my mouse, not using my cd players at all. I use the SSL box to do this on my pc side.
Soooooooooo.....Since I already spent $500 + for my ssl box, I would like to use it with my macbook and mac beta 5.0. I want to DJ like I always have with my Denon DNS 1000's, and Serato lets me do that fine on my mac. But since I bought VDJ and I am getting increased video show bookings, I would rather use VDJ on my mac (more stable and I trust the OS more). I am trying to find a way now to have the SSL box work. I quickly DL last week, but could not devote time to it, as it did not recognize my SSL.
Does anyone have any tricks that they have used to help me out? If I cannot get it working, I will buy the Numark box if I have to, but I wanted to try things before dishing out more $$.
Please advise.

hi terry, have u tried make ur ssl box as the aggregate device
Try to create an aggregate device in the Apple's audio config window
(Applications/Utilities/Audio MIDI Setup, create a new aggregate device and add all the inputs and outputs from the ssl box).
Then use this aggregate device as the driver in virtualdj.
It should werk;) |

you need to run serato to enable the device
then close it and run vdj |

spinnaJ - can you post a step by step procedure on how to configure the SL1 using the mac audio midi utilities? It sounds like your method should work. |

go to aplications > utilities
then run audio and midi setup
on this screen you will see
the option to choose your default input and default output
on output , choose aggregate device
then on the right hand side Setup device should appear press this then tick the outputs of the sl1
now do the same for inputs , select aggregate device as default input then setup the device to use all of the inputs of the sl1
now go to vdj and choose Aggregate device |

This is not working for me either. How do you choose the aggregate device as the default output without first creating it? And, like dev79, I do not have the SL1 as an option in the device editor. My SL1 is fully functional with the Scratchlive software. Can someone who is currently using the SL1 with VDJ 5.0 Mac Beta3 chime in with some help? |

Does u guys done this prior than just open VDJ n wanna select the options? U have to create the above first as the aggregate device b4 opening VDJ n select from there.. I just want the clearer view of urs guys input on this.

spinnaJ - that procedure would work if the sl1 was recognized in the audio midi setup screen. Unfortunately it does not. There is no way to choose the sl1 as an aggregate device because it does not apear on the list of usable devices. |

What if u run serato n meanwhile u set up for it, will it show it as listed or is it still blank? |

Even with Serato running in the background, the SL1 does not show up on the list. I read somewhere else in the forum that the SL1 worked with the Mac version at one point, then stopped working with the new updates. Could the beta version your using be different from the one posted for download since your a beta tester. I doubt that both you & Skyfxl are missleading us intentionally. |

hey guys, bringing this thread to life, i'm about to finally pickup my macbook and wanted to know if anyone has VDJ for MAC running on MAC OS with the Serato SL1 box and TCV or TCCD successfully? thanks! |

The sl1 box on mac is locked to the SLL software only it wont be possible.
you might want to trade it for a VV box. |

damn that really sucks balls...i haven't unloaded my ESI U46DJ yet, can anybody confirm the working use of the U46DJ on a MAC with TCV or TCCD? |

yes that will work you can use it as an aggregate device click my name for a setup guide ultimately the VV box is the best solution for mac djs though. |
