Forum: MAC Version Technical Support - Topic: Hey all... I'm back - Me, Obama campaign, and life...

Been away from these forums for the past 6 months doing mostly non-club related things like spinning at Barack Obama campaign & volunteer events in an effort to both help get him elected here in the U.S. on November 4th and to also demonstrate how visual turntablism can be used and benefit events in ways other than the known mobile/club/band dj artist realms.

I also had fallen on some hard times for various other reasons (economy, family, health, etc.) but everything's back on the right path now and will be exceptionally good once again in about a month and a half.

My personal issues aside, I just wanted to say "Hi" to those who know or remember me on these forums and introduce myself to all of the new members of our Mac forums who have come onboard during my absence.

Now let's get this new VirtualDJ Pro 5.2 Mac version on track so that we can finally have the best of both worlds: the best OS in the world (Mac OS X) and the best digital dj artist software in the world (VirtualDJ)!

Hey there Mr Mac. LOL!
I am using a Macbook Pro 17'
with 4gb of ram
& 2.4 dual core processor.

I have had technical issues since day 1! I use the total control along with the virtual vinyl. The mac has crashed
(By crashing I mean the oprogram shuts down and gives me an error screen. The song actually doesn't stop playing till it either ends or i rpush o.k. on the error screen. It tells me that there has been an error and to restart the program that everything is ok)
atleast 5 of the 10 times I have tried to use it all night long. For the most part it craps out during the 1st 2 hours which I am using it. I need help in either configering my mac to work properly with Virtual Vinyl or reinstall the program. I do both video & music. It has crashed with me just doing music (no video) & vice versa.

This is very frustrating! I have even considered going back to ssl to do my videos but they do not play vob's! That sucks!!!!!!!!

DJ RPS... I had the same thing happening for awhile, too. Posted the same problem on the board with no solution found. Hopefully you'll have better luck. The good news is, I haven't had the problem in about a month. I didn't change anything, it just kind of went away. Hopefully you have the same good fortune I did if no one has a solution for you.

I changed the way I connect my usb cables by connecting one on each side of the mac. This looks as if it helped me out. I djed last night for 4 hours and was error free until the very end where the last 2 tracks I played on the lefthand side of Virtual Vinyl kept skipping on me. I checked the timecode and it was perfect. I sounded like if I was tapping on the jog wheel of the total control. I changed the song to make sure that wasn't the problem and it did it again. So I will just have to figure it out the hard way!!!!!!!!!!!

That's the tough part of getting through this stuff on Mac... things are so random. I guess it's just growing pains.
