Forum: MAC Version Technical Support - Topic: Internal HD drive at 7200rpms

I have found that Western Digital and Seagate have released new hds.

Now we can enjoy desktop hds performances with our macbooks.

The prices are around 75€ - 95US$.
I have order one of these to my local dealer, because it's a big dealer and the price will be cheapest for me.

I'm nervous about the price and the day i will got it.

MBP and 7200rpms HD... Wuau!!

slow down there speedy, the heat generated with that new drive probably wasn't envisioned by the designers at Apple so use caution with your upgrade there, you could see some heat related problems in the plastic case. As far as I know Macbook pros were the only ones to offer that speed of drive.

I'm thinking about to install a refrigerator in the drive.
Witch will be the best... Bosch? White Westinghouse? Siemens?
I'm only joking.

People in a spanish forum that already have it, told me that there is no problem with that kind of drive, anyway thanks for the advice, i have think before order.

Or maybe i got to go to a colder country... I live in the south of Spain.

Tomorrow i will get the 7200rpms hd.

I will post the results.... if I don't burn my macbook pro.

I upgraded my macbook pro with a Hitachi 200gb 7200 rpm drive last year, and have had no problems with heat or operation. Enjoy the better performance!

I got the new drive.

I think that 23 seconds to boot it's really fast.... yes 23 seconds.

Now the songs load faster, and all it's speed up!!

And I have no problems with heat.
All it's now working faster than before.
