I can't stress this point enough. In order to get the best functionality of the latest Mac update versions it's best to uninstall the previous version and do a clean install with the new. Be sure to save important folders such as samples and effects and your XML files to be copied into the new installations folders.
My thinking was as soon as I upgraded to the newer versions the crashes would just go away or were automatically fixed...wrong! the problems persisted and I almost gave up on VDJ. I tried a clean install on the latest version and viola...all fixed.

I took my Xponent out for the first time last night and hot damm this thing kicked ass!
I can't wait for the native support to be fixed on the upcoming releases to see what this can really do. Thanks to SKYFXL for his midi mapper (slightly modified by me) the Xponent stood stable all night long!

OK here's what I did to get it to 100% Timecode Quality using my Numark CDX's
Under settings open the Sound Card tab, Hit the Config Timecode button, Choose Advanced View, Hit the Asio Config button, Go to the Controls tab and slide the input levels all the way down between the 3rd and 4th notches from the bottom, Close the ASIO Config window, Uncheck "Software RIAA preamp" & "Anti Skip", Select "Turntable" from the drop down menu and the hit the Auto-config button on the bottom...do this for both left and right. At this point you should see a 100% Time code Quality.

Well I've always been a music and computer buff...Everytime I buy a new CD I always rip it to the computer make 2 copies (one for each car) and put the original away for safe keeping so you can imagine I already had a ton of music to get started with when I first encoutered VDJ.
At first it was only used to make myself mixed CD's and play around with in my free time until that one fateful day when I got that call. It was my nieces 21st B-day party and the DJ they had booked flaked and cancelled. knowing that I had been playing around with VDJ they asked if I could DJ for the night. I thought "sure why not, it's only going to be a small house party with family and a couple friends". Now keep in mind...that being my first time doing it out of the house only had a pair of 12" speakers, (1) 150w amp and my desktop computer. I can say all went well and the party went on well into the early morning.
Soon after I started upgrading...you know bigger better....it's never enough...lol. Since then I've done my best friends engagement party, a 50th b-day party and a couple baby Baptisms....you know us mexicans....any excuse to have a party...hahhaha....and hope to do many more.
I can now say that I'm an official VDJ Junky....I catch myself listening to the radio thinking hey this song will mix in really well with that song or that was a nice 16 beats that can be looped....I know, I know but I just can't help it.

New Laptop: Macbook Pro 17", 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM, GeForce 8600M GT - 256MB Video Card, MAC OS X Version 10.4.10
Old Laptop: Emachines M6809. 64-Bit 3200+ processor, 2gb of RAM, ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9600 - 64MB video card, Windows XP Home Edition.
Mixer: Denon DN-X300 mixer (2 channel battle mixer)
New Turntables: (2) Technics SL1210M5G's
Old Turntables: (2) Gemini TT-02 W/ TCV's and just recently added (2) Numark CDX's with TCCD's (these things ROCK!)
Controllers: Numark Total Control & M-Audio Xponent
Microphones: Shure Wireless mic, Lapelle mic and Wired mic
B-52's Matrix 2000 (and Matrix 1000...For smaller gigs), 1200 Watt powered speaker system consisting of (1) 18" 600w Subwoofer & (2) 12" 2-way, pole mounted 300w speakers.
Sound Card: Maya USB44
