- Firmware updated
- Aiso drivers updated
- Running VDJ 7.4 pro

OK using DJDad 4 deck mapper and everything works flawlessly in 4 deck mode except no sound from mains, monitor or cue in headphones. No vu lights on the VMS4 when song playing.

I have also read the setup instructions on this site as well as the vms4 manual.

Any help would be great.

Are you using the vms in post- or pre-eq mode?

Did you make sure to power off the unit before you switched modes?

I'm using pre-eq. I want controller eq functionality for eq mixing.

I just noticed one strange thing though. When I look at the AISO settings for the vms4 I see that under "Device" it says:

VMS4 (000000000) while in pre-eq mode and
VMS4 (100000000) while in post-eq mode. Now I know that the 1 is supposed to be the first number when in post-eq mode but is the device number supposed to be 000000000? In the manual and on this site the device number is never 000000000 . Could this be part of the issue?

Does it work OK with the default VDJ mapper?

Does it work OK as a standalone unit?

any chance to try your controller on another system
( just want to see if this also is showing up "VMS4 (000000000) while in pre-eq mode and VMS4 (100000000) while in post-eq mode)
in that case it might be a problem with the controller itself...

Thanks for your input. I will try it on my other computer and see if the same happens. I will also check the device number on the new system. I'll report back soon. :)

OK the device numbers were identical on both systems. I did get 4 channels to work on the second system!!! But here is the issue the first system is my dj system and is newer than the second system. I even did a clean install of windows 7 on the first system (laptop) and still I had no sound in 4 deck mode.

Ok, that is indeed strange if you did a clean installation of Win 7...
AFAIK 000000000 in the Asio panel is wrong. There should be some numbers, as you can see here:

Did you get this numbers on you other system or did it also show just zero?

Have you already tried to install the vms (+drivers) on another usb port on your primary laptop?
Oh,... and don't use a USB 3 port for the vms. They might cause problems.
If your laptop doesn't have a USB 2 port just interconnect a USB 2 Hub.

According to one post on the ADJ forum (did you check there?) you have to install and run as admin for the sound to work.

Perhaps you are admin on one computer but not on the other.

the sound is not related to the Post-Pre EQ mode. Thats the mode that determines how the EQ works. Not related to crossfader, volume faders, gains etc.
I am sure you are doing something wrong. Re-install the drivers as admin and follow the same sound setup procedure as the one you have done in your other laptop.
USB 3.0 ports could be a good reason why the sound card may not working properly too.

The laptop only has USB 2

The zeros were on both systems.

I will give your suggestion a try (using another usb port)

the vms must be connected to the usb port, which was used when you did the setup, cause the drivers a installed kind of "port related"
using another port can cause exactly this issue. did the vu´s work when you try to play a track...?

All 4 decks work and the VUs (in the software) move but no on the controller...everything works in 4 deck mode (using the controller) except there is no sound out to my monitor or the mains or the phones. The VUs don't do anything on the controller. I have it plugged into the same USB port as when it was installed.
