Tópico: Virtual DJ LE upgrade?

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

Happy Holidays Everybody!

New to the forum, this is my first of what I hope to be many posts. I am currently using a Pioneer DDJ Wego with the supplied LE software. I am strongly considering upgrading to the Pro version of Virtual DJ using the discounted price offered through the controller. My question is, if I upgrade to Pro using the serial number provided with my Wego and I decide to upgrade my controller in the future(bigger and better model) will I be able to use Virtual DJ pro with that new controller?

Yes. Once you go pro, you can use any controller. Look here. Welcome to the forum, as the Romans said to the Christians.

From what I'm aware you can use your VDJ LE to get a discount off upgrading to pro, BUT.... you will not be able to sell the controller with the copy of VDJ LE as the serial has been used. So you would need to sell the Wego without software.

From then on your vdj pro will work with ANY controller you purchase, providing the software supports it.

you can still sell the software and the controller together, but the recipient won't be able to use the serial to upgrade as it would have already been used. you should really let them know that when you sell it to avoid any confusion if you do decide to sell in the future.

Also the only dj controllers VDJ will never support natively are from Native Instruments, the rest usually take a couple of months from their release to be mapped, but with VDJ's great controller API and VDJ script any controller can be mapped with the same tools that the team use, you can't say that about Serato or Traktor who only give limited support for mapping in comparison.

But the serial supplied with the software to a second user would have already been registered and linked to the first owners account, rendering the serial 'redundant' for future installations and impossible for the user to register it with virtualdj.com, unless I'm mistaken?

He says he is using the LE version, but he has not registered it yet. So, he can't upgrade until he registers. If he doesn't register, that he can sell it with the controller.

I get what you're saying but he also say's he is thinking of UPGRADING, which to me means installing the LE, registering it and then upgrading to Pro for a discounted cost. (That's what I did anyway, made more sense) After which that copy of LE would be useless but he'd have saved some cash on the upgrade.

On the upside the Wego is supported by Serato Intro so the next user will atleast have some form of software for free, meaning he shouldn't lose out all that much when he comes to sell it.

Speaking of which, bit off topic but if you do fancy selling the wego without VDJ LE let me know

How much is it to upgrade from the vdj le (wEGO EDITION) to the full version out of interest? - I dont have the serial number to hand or registered atm so i can find out easily myself.

Cheers

I think it's around £100 (according to previous posts here from WeGO owners).
