Tópico: Filter folders....???

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

I have asked before a question on this but the filter supplied didnt worx the way i specifically needed it to.

I have looked in the manual but cant find anything that makes the filter Keep the tracks in the order played, and 'only' keeps the tracks for that set or even that day, then discards them??

.....Ive tried, day since lastplay=1, alreadyplayed=0, and afew others, alreadyplayed works, but, i dont know why but all the songs are in different order, why the hell would they put alreadyplayed not in order?,

You can't add a sort option to the filter, however if you are showing the last play column just sort on the column.

Here is in the last 24 hrs -
(days since lastplay<=1)and (days since lastplay>=0)

Now if in that 24 hrs the same song was played 3 times then you need to use the History playlist file to see your TRUE history of played and order.

Ok thanks cstoll you have yet siezed to answer my questions. cheers

With the history page records, is there any way to have the most recent page at the top of the list, make thing abit more efficient in a mix...

Maybe i'm not understanding the question, but in history it keeps record of your playlist for that date in order played and listed on the bottom of the collum. So just click on history, pull the bottom list. this is what I do the night before my show... I gathered all my material I wanted to play and I start playing the songs in order. So on showtime- I pull the songs, move them over to sidelist. Sort by BPM, add any additional request.... BOOM Baby.

I used to keep everything in written form but i kept forgeting the paper.

what we have available to organize ourselves is amazing ........ if you can't get it together using the virtual folders , filter folders and history lists , plus sorting the bpm column... unreal , ain't it ? i use the comments a lot also

now , if i could just not put my pants on backwards .....

Sory, when cstoll said you can sort in the collum I thought he meant in the browser were the lastplay songs show, so you could drag them into order and they would stay like that, thats what i thought. Obvioulsy i tried and virtual dj didnt allow me. Duno cstoll. I wasnt gunna bother trying to figure it out so i just asked if there was a way to get the most recent history page AT THE TOP of the historys list, i know what you mean but that was my question, i asked because i wanted it to have the same idea as the filter folder, so you can have a list directly on click without having to flick all the way through to the bottom of all the other pages in the collum . sounds picky but when in the browser, folders are closing and opeing everywhere then i got this massive 200 page history list to scroll and my browser starts to complain of cloggyness!

Thought id ask first but i can just delete the seperate entrys out of the XML file a?

Sory if that got confusing there i hope you know what i mean now

Now I am confused on what you are trying to do? And what XML file do you think you are going to modify and what separate entries are you talking about.

History - is a collection of .m3u files stored in the My Documents -> VirtualDJ\\Tracklisting folder. Each file is a history of each 24 hrs period of use (divided based on the HistoryTimer registry setting). The tracks are listed in the order of play by default from the oldest (first played) to the newest (last played) in that 24 hr period.

I never said 'sort in the column' , I said 'sort by a column'. If you are showing the Last Played column, if you click on the column heading it will sort the tracks based on the date of last played stored for those tracks.

VirtualDJ in the center browser panel has never supported drag-n-drop ordering. This capability of drag-n-drop to adjust the order of the files is only available in the Playlist and Sidelist panels. If you 'Save' a playlist the saved playlist will save in the order that you setup from top to bottom of the list.

I am sure I have probably missed something but this should clearly explain what your options are for trying to do what you are describing, what ever that may be.

Sory cstoll, no you hav'nt missed anything sory its my mistake for not being completely clear.

I know the history file in the history folder in My docs/VDJ is not a XML file, my stupid mistake,

I thought the history displayed in VDJ's browser was related to the history file in the "all history" folder in My documents, i was asking if i could delete the seperate entrys in there to shorten the history list in VDJs browser........ now i know the history folder in VDJs browser has no relationship to the history folder in My docs...... In relationship to asking that and about the filter folders i was trying to achieve, a visual one click option, without scrolling ,for the tracks i had already played displayed in thier respective order. Thats why i was asking about the filter folders in the first place but perhaps I should have just explained what i wanted and then seen what responses i got. Good old me loves to do things the hard way :-)

Anyway, thankyou Cstoll for exaplaining those few things on VDJ. Has made a few things clearer and wont make my future answers sound so out of order...... Now that i know VDJs history tab in the browser is relative to the tracklistings folder i can delete entrys to shorten the history tabs lenght and i guess sorta achieve what i was wanting.

Thanks for your help, Wasnt exactly what i wanted as if i use VDJ thorugh the day for practise and then at night i play a set out i am still goin to have to scroll in the "search results view" and will kinda defeat the purpose of what i was trying to achieve as i am still scrollling, I want that instant click and view of tracks ive played so i can keep the thought of what i was thinking in relation to the previous track or tracks, that scrolling is just another little hassle with all the bazzillion things your thinking when djing. Still though if there is not other option using history will do fine.

Cheers for your help Cstoll!

.....In relation to that last paragraph, i would have loaded anywhere up to over 50 -100 tracks within the day and the daily history llist will be quite big, if iam playing at night all the recent tarcks will be at the bottom of the history search results view.

Bit of a picky issue out of any but it helps me dj when things are more accessable, even if they are only tiny things like this.

v>>> I wanted a way, a list/folder whatever that keeps only the tracks played, in the order that they were played in the present mix, not like the history where you have all songs for the day?

Cheers, please i hope someone can help.
