toshiba dual core x64 running vista x64os
4gb ram
1tb wd mybook
sl1/maya44usb(depends..vdj dont really like my sl1 too much lol)
edirol um3 midi to usb


i notice when i try to scratch one video the other freezes til i stop scratchin ,,it didnt do this b4
also random crashes and dissapearing vdj

i think its narrowing to either timecodes/asio or /and the edirol um3 midi to usb

Only djcel know how rendering those numbers.
 
Which type of video files did you use when it appeared? mp4?

i normally use avi ,mpeg, and mkv..i do have some mp4 too.
last night i had a terrible night . had show logo 2 displaying a logo (ruff ryders r symbol)had a video playlist running and got a few song requests so i threw them in . as normal the soniq fx came in for the songs the video came in as normal.
i decide its time for me to start mixing and loaded a video onto the second deck i got the computer glitchy sound and couldnt get rid of it!

tried turnin off timecode ..safemode ..overclock..moved slider all way 2 the left ..ticking the ultra asio box on n off ..nothing.
i threw a cd in the deck and played a few tracks while i tried to troubleshoot then just loaded serato but i couldnt finish my video set cause ive been too busy to convert my vids over(not really sure which format will b best for both programs)

i need to get this solved b4 thursday when i go back there.what should i do

I noticed that some of my mkv videos cause problems. I quit using them and things seem to be better. It was like the computer couldn't handle it. It just bogged down. Video stopped but audio continued, etc.
 
I thought to mkv too. Do you use "Video Decoder" with them?

Yes I did.
 
If you can identify one .mkv which freezes more the video engine than others, I'm interested to analyse the file.
(I can give you a FTP access to upload it)
 
I'll see if I can find it. It doesn't happen with all mkv files. So far i've only had it happen on my club's computer. I haven't tried my laptop yet. If I have some time tomorrow I'll see what I can dig up.

Boogie, what about you? Do you have the problem when using mkv files?
 
yup..i use video decoder for all video file types.
i will pay more attention next time i mix what type file it is...i notice that i mostly have problems when using asio or external soundcards with tccds

i did notice when the playlist was transitioning before the end it would b like a 2 or 3 sec pause or glitch in audio and video
 
hey Boogie,

Check the aspect ratio of the mkv files...see if the ones you are having trouble with are 1280 x 720. in VDJ browser right click on the file and go to "file infos" and it will tell you what the aspect ratio is.

well yesterday i jus plugged laptop directly to mixer with 1/8 to rca.internal mode. not i single problem the whole night.

i will go through the mkv files and see if i can find one to cause a problem

setup with maya44usb with no timecode.. external mixer

in 20minutes recover smiley face .crash report:

was using auto playlist with videos; played 2 mp3 songs computer crashed when i turned on show logo 2.

restarted vdj with recover.shut it back down then reopened it.

vdj ran fine except i had to turn off video transitions to none cuz when transitioning from one vid to the next the sound woud go computery for a bit then return to normal..but i ouldnt afford another crash so i switched it to none
 
1) it's an external crash maybe because of the pluggin show logo.

2) how is your option in vdj : decode while hidden?
 
decode while hidden is not checked..
should i try using it?

is there anything else i should try ?right now im open to all suggetions.lol..jus want to get this resolved or i might have to give up my tues /thursday video gig.hehe
