before clicking on save. i would like to preview the forum post. make any corrections and changes, or even cancel it all together.

to cancel don't hit save just hit the back arrow at the top left of page. anything else can be done before save, preview and you can do a spell check as well.
 
Just click on save look over the post, if edits are needed just click on the little green wrench icon next to the blue one to go back to editing once done click save again., I think you have 10 or 15 minutes not sure.

i mean everything on one screen.

preview post; edit post; save; all on one screen.

also sometimes you write a topic. hit post, edit, post, edit, post. then you decide the post is not such a good idea.

but you cannot delete it..
