I recently bought the Hercules RMX ddue to it's solid design. I was looking for a controller a little less expensive than the VMS4. Now i see it wasn't the best decision as there isn't a way to control the parameters on the FX. Can someone recommend a FX controller that would be compatible with the RMX? I like the VFX-1 but i'm pretty sure it must be used with the VCI-300. Any help would be awesome. Thanks!

Hercules RMX , Is by far the best controller ! I rate it , very close to Serato Scratch Live ! And Serato is top of the line. You just have to unlock all your features by upgrading to Virtual DJ Pro !!!! Then download all your plug-ins and go to work ! Creating your own mixes and video mixes. Hercules Bangs the party!

I use a vci-100. A bit limiting in vdj since I can only get 3 effects on the Mac version. However would love a mapping like djtechtools did with traktor. The vci-100 is firmware upgradeable and would work better with vdj with such a mapping

Hercules RMX is just a basic " easy " to use controller for blending. I had one for a few days and i sold it because it didnt like it. Your better off getting the VMS4. The VCI 300 is a good controller but i really didnt like the crossfader curves and the Output. The light on the PFL show that its high but the output was low. It didnt have that punch like a real mixer. The VMS4 is nice but the buttons feel cheap just like a behringer mixer. You can get the VMS4 for 450 online..

If you are just doing basic mixing and beatmatching..there is no better controller for Virtual DJ than the Hercules RMX. If you want to run more elaborate stuff including scratching etc...than stay away from the RMX. The NS7 is probably the way to go if you are accustomed to vinyl.
Just my 2 cents

I suggest you the Vci-300 it has almost the same features as vci-100 has but it doesnt need a soundcard. It works perfectly with vdj.

I have a mixdeck (like you couldn't guess) and I might be upgrading to a pair of V7's and a nice mixer I think. It seems the Mixdeck was defective from numark and I didn't have a computer to run the V7's but I bought a Dell 1558 i5 with 8 gigs of ram and I yeah it scratches HD videos beautifully with all the video quality settings on high. I tested the computer by running windows media player, playing a video in my Itunes and running two VDJ's and then constantly loading, fast forwarding and changing tracks in my automix and it still runs with out a hiccup. ;) Sooo here's hoping i get either my Mixdeck back (which i loved cause its so versitile and looks not so wedding DJ like ((i hope that didn't come out wrong)). or if I don't get it back I will be forking out the rest so i can have two V7's cause they are super cool looking.
Best of luck in finding what you like

You can from VDJ Pro. From the LE version that comes with the RMX you are restricted to the pre-programmed configuration.
Also note that the LE version that comes with the RMX is v5. v6.1.2 is the latest version and v7 is just around the corner. I would use the opportunity to upgrade to Pro, unleash the RMX and get ready for multideck with v7 and then FREE upgrades for life.
It'll be one of your better investments ;-)
You'll see the RMX in a competely different light - trust me...
