I have a gig at a club that has a house system that they want me to run my sound into aside from the system I run when I dj. I use both of my XLR outputs on the vms4 for my setup. How can I run a line out to their system to feed it. They have an XLR there for me to tap into. I tried some rca to xlr cables out of the booth on my vms4 and it didnt work. Also is there a way for me to control the volume of what i send through from my end? Worse case scenario they can control it from their mixer.....i just need to know which output I should send them the signal out of.
Do I want to use a xlr splitter on one of my outputs?

You are mixing externally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is just recording when the VDJ deck is playing!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You need to mix internally or rout the audio out of the mixer back into the laptop or another one also running VDJ.

i had the same issue trying to use video and karaoke tracks...hope this helps
the volume controls on the screen are acutally fake...its in the mapping. what you see on the screen is not actually happpening in the program. so essentially when mixing with the vms the volumes on the program are at full volume the entire time.
the mixer is adjusting the volume going out to your speakers. so if you are trying to record internally you will need to go into mapping and delete the FAKE_Level for channel 1 and channel 2
Replace it with VOLUME. Now you will actually be adjusting the volume of the tracks on the program which is where the recording is taking place.
Good Luck

Its not advised to change the fake_actions to normal ones. Its not even recommended from AA. VMS2/4 have a real analogue mixer and its should be treated like this. Making the mixer working like a pure midi mixer will probably cause additional troubles.
The recording using those devices should follow this way .. http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Recording%20your%20set%20or%20broadcasting%20when%20using%20an%20external%20DJ%20mixer.html
