Actually Chris if you read my comments they are constructive, i.e I've pointed out where I believe they've gone wrong, don't try to put me in the same basket as those who just pop on here to say "It's sh*t end of" because that's clearly not what I am about.
Others have rightfully pointed out that this controller would probably be preferable to similar units in its class - and for a product "very much aimed at the non DJ and those new to DJ'ing" I'm sure it's going to pack a punch in those markets, you could do far worse.
The potential drawbacks I've pointed out are aimed at those considering this for club gigs for example, people will read the thread and come to their own view, they've had my unbiased 2 cents and some (certainly not you) may appreciate them.
I started using controllers long before they were aimed at professionals, I used the Hercules MK2 (in conjunction with a mixer) to entertain thousands at a time, sure I was professional but I didn't consider my controller to be as professional as I'd of liked it to be, there were a number of flaws that could have potentially (and very nearly did) make my performance suffer, I could bore you with the details but you get the point.

I said pro controllers that come bundle with vdj.... Not native support,
From denon website:
The DN-SC2000 is optimized for TRAKTOR® Pro users and natively supported by Virtual DJ.
So you can try again naming pro controller that comes bundle with vdj

I think all controllers are great. Not so long ago we only had a few choices and they weren't that good either. My hats off to manufactures that try new things, and actually bring it. Choices are a very good thing and lets not forget the days that there were only a few controllers out there with questionable quality. I remember those days pretty well. They are trying something new here lets not forget there are 100's of other controllers out there. I see a few things unique with this one, and I'm sure it will do well, pio has some of the best feeling transport controls in the industry I don't think I'd get an argument there from any dj that has ever touched a cdj of any kind. The word pro is tossed around loosely these days and we could spend time arguing that point alone. Lets not forget that works for me might not for you not that my opinion matters be cause you can make your own choices right?! I'm excited to see this new controller its hard to get a feel for any hardware by pictures alone.

Wow time to chill out on this I think.
It’s nice to see VDJ come with another controller and a Pioneer one at that (will explain in a bit), even if it is meant for the beginner.
With Pioneers reputation and saturation of the club’s I can only see this as a good thing for us VDJ faithful users, as a lot of the new lads and lasses that will want to learn and try to be a DJ will most likely want to have a Pioneer product.
I say this as most of the newbie’s that want to learn to be a DJ would have seen the DJs they like at the clubs they go to, and the supper stars on TV use Pioneer stuff.
So if it is priced well and newbie’s go for it we will hopefully in the not to distant future start to see less and less people slag off VDJ as not a “PRO” product. And also see less people saying that it “can’t be trusted because it crashes all the time” (which is already starting to happen because of the home free edition). As these up and coming DJs of the future will have first hand experience with a legitimate version of VDJ and will be able to see how great this program is for them selves.
That’s just my thoughts though
Well done team VDJ.

couldn't help but notice the total control icon in your profile. We all had to start somewhere.

Well my take on this is that it's exactly what it is, a starter unit.
The problem is - and I think this is what Bagpuss was getting at, is that there are loads of these budget controllers out there, all aimed at the beginner, I really don't know whats wrong with them. I wish they'd adopt the Denon approach! at least they came up with something half decent.
Hopefully not much longer before they release something that's built with all required functions in order to manipulate all the features in VDJ comfortably.
Off to plasa this weekend so I'll keep my eye out.

Apparently the DN-SC2000 did come bundle with VDJ, just look at their forum.

But who cares what it comes bundled with? I don't know why people make a big deal about what controllers come bundled with. They are all HID/MIDI devices that send signals to software. The hardware itself does not care to what kind of software its sending signals to. Stop being lazy and map the controller yourself.
I actually like this Pioneer controller, so far from what I have seen on the videos it looks worthy of this Pro user.
Do people actually remember what the word professional mean any more?
Well lets reference Dictionary.com
pro·fes·sion·al [pruh-fesh-uh-nl]
1. following an occupation as a means of livelihood or for gain: a professional builder.
2. of, pertaining to, or connected with a profession: professional studies.
3. appropriate to a profession: professional objectivity.
4. engaged in one of the learned professions: A lawyer is a professional person.
5. following as a business an occupation ordinarily engaged in as a pastime: a professional golfer.
Let me make it easy for the DJs.
Example 1: If you are making money with your Numark Mixtrak CONGRATULATIONS YOUR A PROFESSIONAL!
Example 2: If your not making money with your top of the line CDJs and your top for the line DJ mixer you are NOT a professional.
Example 3: If your getting paid to rock the party with your Virtual DJ YOUR A PROFESSIONAL!!
Example 4: If you are DJing for free with your typical industry standard software YOU ARE NOT A PROFESSIONAL.
Sorry Gear snobs but there's no mention about your quality gear making you a professional.

I am looking forward to this controller. The design is sexy, the lights look great and you can control 4 decks and trigger samplers. It may not be as durable as the Denon, but if you take care of your equipment you should be ok. I was going to buy the Vestax 100mk2, but I am going to hold off and do some more research.

LOL, yeah it looks like there's no way your gonna to be able to rack that thing! That thing would look so strange in a rack with is its curves LOL
It looks pretty cool to me, just got to get my hands on it to feel it out. I just wished it had the jogs of the bigger CDJs. They keep using these CDJ400 jogs. But I guess if they would put the bigger jogs on their MIDI controllers sales of CDJs might drop off.

I am looking forward to this controller! I am 28 year veteran pro DJ who uses CDJs and a DJM-800 mixer at all mobile and club gigs I do. Gear does NOT make you a pro, that happens on it's own or it doesn't...
I would simply LOVE to own this. I would likely use it at the majority of my mobile gigs. What better combo than what I currently use, VDJ & Pioneer!
KUDOS to Pioneer and VDJ!!
I'm ready to make another 100,000+ hit Youtube video on this wonderful joint venture, like my Pioneer CDJ with VDJ video from last year!!
Great work guys!
