Hey everyone. I bought this off ebay with copy of vdj7. As he registered it a while ago I have no access to the download section here. I've heard that this controller works really well with an alien implant map?! I'd appreciate anyone pointing me in the right direction on this or any better controller map to get this working well. I know it's cheap and rubbish as far as a controller goes, but if I can get to grips with this, I'll be quickly moving onto something better.

Thank you in advance of any reply

In that case, then the copy of VirtualDJ you have is illegal and is probably why it is not working well.

The BCD3000 has never shipped with VirtualDJ LE included and the legitimate full VirtualDJ Pro cannot be resold. Please see http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Serial%20Transfer.html

If you wish to use it with VirtualDJ, please support the software and its future development by purchasing your own legitimate license for it: http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html

Custom mappers can only be downloaded by registered licensed users who have purchased the full VirtualDJ Professional, but you can try it out before purchasing with the native mapping built into the latest VirtualDJ Home FREE for 10 minutes at a time: http://www.virtualdj.com/download/free.html

The BCD3000 should work OK as a MIDI controller. Make sure that you have the latest drivers/firmware for it from the manufacturer's website and check to ensure that the operating system you are using is compatible.

If it won't work in the latest Home FREE, please see http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/MIDI%20Controller%20Not%20Working.html (In particular, USB 3 ports may cause problems for older devices such as the BCD3000. Try using a powered USB 2 hub.)

It looks legitimate enough to be honest. It also came with a software disk for traktor 3 le which has the bcd3000 on it, so I'm guessing that's the factory shipped cd. Traktor is rubbish, but it seems very expensive to pay for a pro license just to get a good map for this.

I appreciate the advice though, thank you.

You've already stated that your copy of VDJ has been registered to someone else.

Therefore it is not legal for you to be using it. It doesn't belong to you.

If you want to use the BCD with VDJ then you'll need to purchase the full Pro version and register it in your name.

Alternatively (as you say) you could move on to something better.

Sell the BCD (but delete the registered copy of VDJ) and buy a controller that comes with an LE version of VDJ.

That will work fine with the controller it ships with, and also entitle you to a discount when you upgrade to the full version of VDJ Pro.
