Tema: Crackling noise still unresolved!

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

I have ran vdj 7.0 for ever with no problems at all. I recently had a prob with my sound cards wiggling around in the hub so I decided to ugrade both sound cards and hub. I was using 2 generic cards and a generic unpowered hub. I switched to 2 sound blaster X Fi Go Pro. and a Plugable 7 Port High Speed USB 2.0 Hub with 3A Power Adapter here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003Z4G3I6/ref=oh_details_o04_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I immediately started getting crackling noises in my 2nd deck running a 2 deck skin. I switched back to the old cards and hub but the same thing happened. I have been reading for about a week on all of the "fixes" posted here and I have tried them all. Changing all settings in my program, Using gamebooster, tweaking my laptop, disable wifi, you name it.

I finally said screw it and purchased a new laptop. specs:
AMD A8-4500M Processor (1.9GHz)
4 GB DDR3 RAM
500 GB 5400 rpm Hard Drive
15.6-Inch Screen,
ATI HD 7640G
Windows 8

Completely optimized it, installed gamebooster, and it sounded great. Played it at home for hours with no probs. I went to play a wedding tonight and Whalla, Crackling in my 2nd deck again. Unbearable. had to play most of the night in auto dj mode. uggh I hated it. Played with latency, skin size, everything. So now what can be the problem?

Why are you running 2 separate sound cards?

I run a numark 4 channel mixer. 1&2 are cd 3&4 are for laptop. I run 1 card for channel 3 and 2nd card for channel 4. I like the option of cuing up and fading from my mixer not from the vdj console. I have done it this way since day 1 and to be quite honest it is the only way I know to get the decks on separate output channels.

For live performance you should preferably use a proper dedicated multi-channel sound card such as Numark DJIO. This will give you two separate stereo sound channels for external mixer use and avoid the timing/compatibility issues that you can experience when using two separate cards.

Please also check your computer for performance issues: http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Performance%20Issues.html

You will also need to purchase VirtualDJ Basic or the full Professional to be able to output the two decks separately to an external mixer. VirtualDJ Home FREE doesn't support external mixer use and is also for non-commercial use only and cannot be used at gigs where you are being paid. Please see comparison.

If you have not purchased VirtualDJ Pro then please support the software and its future development by purchasing it: http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html (Especially if you are working DJ and are making money as a result of using it at your gigs.)

If you have already purchased, then please register your serial number to your account http://www.virtualdj.com/users/edit.html and then download the latest version from the Download Center: http://www.virtualdj.com/download/updates.html

I have already done all the tweaks. So why would it just start this all these years later using my same setup?

The best way to avoid problems like this is to use a professional low latency audio interface, not consumer/domestic kit.

I would have suggested running DPC latency checker, but if your new PC is Windows 8 that (currently) won't give accurate results. You could run it on your old PC though, if you still have it.

If by any chance you're using ASIO4ALL I would suggest removing that. If you're trying to get low latency out of domestic kit, that could be the cause of your crackling.

Those little usb sound cards are probably causing you issues, to be blunt they are garbage... Invest in a decent sound card

This is a decent sound card with 4 channels (2 stereo) output

There are many others out there, I use a Gigaport sound card, Its more costly but i never have issues.

Your new laptop is more than likely not playing well with the usb sound sticks you are using

Great, hope to see you as a registered licensed user soon.

Either VirtualDJ Basic or the full Professional is required to use an external multi-channel sound card such as the DJIO.

Please support the software and its future development by purchasing it.
