If anyone has an NS7 II that they can test, I would really appreciate knowing if they fixed the insulation problem. Most club users know about how the NS7 could hardly be used in an environment where managers and other staff are using walkie talkie radio's to communicate in the larger sized clubs. Pressing the transmit button down anywhere near the unit would cause the gain to drop by 75% or more. It's like a remote control to turn down the volume. Had this happen to me several times before I figured out what was causing it. I did write to Numark about this issue but received no response from them.
So if you have an NS7 II and a commercial walkie talkie radio it would be great if you could test it. Just play something at normal volume and press and hold down the transmit key nearby and see if the volume tanks.
My old NS7 sat around collecting dust while I had to switch to the Denon MC-6000. It is insulated well and does not cut out when a manager walks into the booth and keys up his radio.
This is a huge issue for me. I can't spend that kind of money on a controller that is going to have the volume drop like that anytime a radio is used nearby or a cell phone goes off.

Instead of getting angry, show a little understanding. Chris also told you the release date was October the first. Well that was pushed back, and I am sure it had nothing to do with him. People make good faith statements all the time, but everyone wants to hold their feet to the fire, as if it is written in stone. He made those statements based on the info that was given to him. Well, obviously the info changed, and the units did not ship as planned. Are you telling me that you have never made a good faith statement, and things changed beyond your control, and you could not back your statement up? This is life, sh*t happens. Let's not hold others up to a higher standard, that we cannot rise to. We have control of very little, in our lives.
Two guys with a total of seven kids, go to get coffee, tell their wives they would be right back. They never came home. Some 15 year old kid, rams into them, all three are dead. The legal age to drive in NJ is 16 with a permit, and you can't be out without a licensed driver. This kids is not even supposed to be on he road. This happened two days ago. Maybe we should beat these guys up, because they told their families, they would be right back.
Update This kid pinned a suicide note to his chest, so he intentionally killed himself and these two guys.

Music - Im not angry at the world like that kid was, so that comparison wasnt a fair assessment, but that is neither here nor there. I totally get the Shizzle happens in life stuff, but as a consumer we want what we want. I wasn't throwing my fist in the air screaming Damn You...Damn You Numark! I was just mad it wasnt done already because I was excited and I want to be able to use it with my favorite DJ software, its that simple.
ON the flip side - The unit works great! I still dont like the strip search and if you move the fader over two hard it bounces off and the sound will bleed thru, obviously thats just my touch, but its been 15 years or more since I gave up my TT's so...
for the walkie talkie issue - if i can get access to a pair ill post back
Serato is ok. It works. I can see why some people like it, its just not for me.

I was gonna get one, but I really don't like the mirror image on the control surface. When I had my NS6 that was the thing I could not get used to.
Same here, pioneer got that one right.

Zamooda, I was not comparing you to this kid. When I first wrote the reply, I did not know he was suicidal. That update came a day later. The point I was trying to make is, we do not have control over a lot of things in life. Therefore, we should not expect others to have control over ever aspect of their lives. You and I are in the same business, and we are not always consumers. Hey, I am only perfect six days a week, so I allow others to have one day off also.

When I pre-ordered my NS7 II at the AC Dj Expo - I received a free tshirt and also a free case. Well when the unit shipped the case was a week behind, but I finally got it yesterday. I though I was getting a soft case...nope I go a road ready hard case. Cannot be happier!

This message is to ( jamesvanek ) make sure the unit is properly grounded. I am a ham radio operator and own several commercial Motorola handheld radios. I will test for this issue and post my findings. Read up on this info in the links below for now.
