Hey guys,
I had the pleasure of attending the Miami clinic yesterday at the American Audio/ADJ facility. Adam & Jason of VDJ did a fantastic job of working in multiple sessions incorporating various learning styles for the fictionality and features for the long awaited release of Virtual DJ8.
The guys at American Audio/Elation/AJD also put on a killer light show!
Make no mistake... A RELEASE DATE HAS NOT BEEN SET FOR THE PUBLIC.
If any of VDJ VIPs are reading this thread... After attending I would like to see more of these educational mini-clinics for pro-inifinity users. I'd travel across the country to attend the type of hands on training and expertise they provided yesterday.

Strange, you went but you haven't mentioned anything about the "clinic" itself and nothing at all about V8, why make the post, or did you have to sign a nda to attend. If so, why the post.
(This post would have been better posted in the current running thread about the clinics.)

This post was for people who attended the clinics, we did not have to sign anything however out of respect for VDJ we will not be sharing/leaking any information about the software specifics until it has been cleared.
The education and excitement factors were great. We hope that through this thread, others will encourage VDJ to hold more clinics in the future.
I'm sorry you if couldn't attend & thanks for your posts!

you are right.. **** giving any info to ppl who supported their software for years..
Why not close the forum also..
don't get me wrong, I'm not upset that I couldn't go but 6k miles flying is just a bit too much for a clinic
All I know is they better live up to the hype they are creating or it just may backfire
Bad language will not be tolerated!

Ahh, now that you explained more of the details to the thread, I now understand and so will a lot of other people to the separate posting, I hope other attendee's contribute to it as well. Initially it looked like a doubling up of threads.
Thank you for taking the time to make the post.

As i look around your sure not gaining any props with this marketing decision...seems like your disappointing alot of people..
but my question is did anybody test it with timecode vinyl? all those features mean nothing to me if i cant use my 1200s with out stuff going bezerk...and before you tell me its me i have another dvs thats spot on with timecode. Ive done all the tweaking and trouble shooting.

I went to the LA clinic. It was nice to see all the new features coming. The resizable skins, unlimited sampler library, in-situ track editing and visual auto-mix editor are among the things I think I will get the most value from. The new sound engine they tout so highly will impact those that use a lot of effects, not those that just do basic mixing. Database management will be much cleaner and more robust tag editing will be available within the software. Other people had different take-aways. A few guys thought the release would remove any advantages of Serato. I can't say since I'm not a Serato user.
I am most excited that this thing should work better on Win 8.1. The current V7.4 is giving me grief with this OS.

I totally agree with what dasouth2004 has said about this topic. The post made by the original op was not needed as there is already a thread made on the board. I knew from the beginning that when Atomix first announced these clinics that there would be a big discussion. I am also not happy about what can be said and not shared with the rest of us, It seems to me that Virtual DJ 8 is not ready, and that they are still working on fixes making sure that when it is released it will be the best DJ software on the market.

At this point it needs to be flawless. Had they released it with less of a build up, a few bugs would be expected. Having waited so long after mentioning it to bring it to market is pretty scary. Trying to make sure a software is absolutely bug free is damn near impossible, without it being widely used by different users with different setup and needs. If VDJ 8 comes out and has any imperfection, it will be pretty damn upsetting after having waited so long. As for the people who say VDJ 7 works perfect, this isn't absolutely true. Some of the new features available on the DDJ SX and the ns7 ii are not properly supported, and do not function as well as they should or do on the competitors software. I'm looking forward to the new version, and hope it turns out to be a wise decision, to have tested it so thoroughly rather than letting us have it sooner and work out the bugs in the community.

3 clinics yet no news or info about anything to do with version 8.
When I saw the beta preview (about about 1000 moons ago) there were a couple of things i thought wow about and some that i then thought will they actually be something I will use any different to what I do now.
If 8 is that amazing then someone wouldn't be able to contain their excitement so that makes me wonder, is it actually not that much better than 7.4.1 and Atomix are so embarressed about it they are holding out in the hope they can think of something to make us go wow?
Not that I that bothered either way, 7.4.1 is working very well for me, just that this is just getting more & more ridiculous by the second.
If everyone had be made to sign a NDA then we would all of understood why no info has come out but as it is all it is doing is frustrating a very high percentage of your loyal customers.

Here is my opinion and I'm sure it mirrors others' opinions:
I can understand Atomix wanting the software to be perfect or as close to it as humanly possibly. My issue is that the "constant software update" cycle that most (if not all current) companies are using nowadays ALLOWS for some bugs that will be incrementally fixed as the team addresses them. We have waited YEARS for this update. I don't quite understand all the delay being that, if bugs are found (which they probably will be), they will just have to update the software anyways.
Why all the delay????
I sure hope its good. :)

So the theme of this thread is
'We went to the clinics and we're not going to say anything about it, check out my selfie, circular stroke
There's an old Yorkshire phrase that comes to mind, 'S**t or get off the pot.'

Well one things for sure, Atomix needs to get this right, their very future is at stake, as PCDJ found out after there code rewrite, i'm sure Andrew is very aware of this however.
Version 8 sounds fantastic, but with years of Hype and development its got an awful lot to live up to, this software to all intents and purposes doses not exist (in the public domain), my gut feeling is that a rapidly growing portion of the VDJ community are getting disillusioned and
P****d Off with the long drawn out process this has become and I believe that the length of time this is taking could end up being just as damaging as a less than perfect release would be.

I'm not sure. He claims he has "half of a license", so I guess that makes him "half of a customer", who says he is gonna be a full customer, any day now. We at VDJ, treat everyone the same, with respect.
Mensajes Thu 01 May 14 @ 10:42 pm
I have a full license and I have to agree with him..... looking through the boards froma while ago it seemed like their was banter, questions and answers, peeps making suggestions and talking about how to make the most of the software and of djing..... Now it just seems like hype, someone questioning the hype. Someone saying dont question the hype.... mod coming on calling someone an idiot for suggesting that the hype isnt the best hype ever.... Other people saying it really does no good to question the hype,. Then after the whole drama starts to calm down Atomix releasing more hype and saying we dont talk about a software in development so stop questioning us....
