The main thing I'm experiencing is a CPU jump from version 7.4, only being about mid 20's. To version 8 in the mid 40's and into the mid 50's. If I open VDJ8 it's instantaneous, then if I minimize it to the desktop it goes back down to about 0% to 6% with only background things running. Hopefully it won't do it on the final release :)
Maybe it's just a setting somewhere, I don't know about. I don't have the greatest video card either so that could be it. I don't know if this works with VDJ8, but I used the VDJ optimizer before opening it to se if it made any difference, the answer was no! Anyone notice a higher CPU difference?

yes i noticed that there is a cpu spike .. with v8 also i have noticed that the fan is running and battery starts to drain
