I love the new auto update feature; and call it ocd, but I just feel like there should be a button to check that VDJ is the most up to date. Just an opinion, not a priority.

I'd love to see that as well! I think we've all come to expect a 'Check for Update' option under the Help menu.

I received an update not too long ago and now I have ads on the lower right hand side. which I have no problem with.. and then with no reason my virtual DJ closes... it doesn't give me a real reason why it closes... but it does ... all my updates are good as to what I can see . and I do understand its a free one .. so I do not have much room to complaint about it .. but if it's something I can get cleared up I would totally appreciated it .. anyone know or heard of this problem ?

Sounds like a crash.
You can go back to an earlier version and check if it happens again:
