Hi,
i have a issue with the DDJ-SX2 with Win7.
When i start the DDJ-SX2 i can run with VDJ in Midi (or HID?) wich is really nice.
But when i've ran Serato with the DVS plugin it changes the hardware / driver setting to "DDJ-SX2 2In2Out" and VDJ doesn't recognize it any more. I Know its a issue made by serato and pioneer licencing-politics. I found a way to use it as DVS Soundcard in VDJ without buying the DVS Plugin in Serato - but logically it only works with 2 Inputs and 2 Outputs.
Edit: it only works with the Firmwar Ver1.02. I tried the Ver1.03 and can't run Timecode in VDJ any more.
How to run the DDJ-SX2 as Midi (or HID) Device in 2In2Out mode with the Firmware Ver1.02?
Can anyone Help me out?

Since we dont have a sample unit here, could you please do the following ...
- Launch VirtualDJ 8 (after this DVS plugin is installed/used with Serato)
- goto the OPTIONS tab of Config and change the setting createMIDIlog to Yes
- Close VirtualDJ 8, and relaunch
- close VirtualDJ 8 again and post here the content of the Log Report.txt file you will find in MyDocuments/VirtualDJ folder.

As you can see i'm using the ASIO4All Driver to use the DDJ-SX2 in VDJ8 with Timecode. I'll have to do this because Pioneer offers ASIO only for the 2 output channels and the inputs are "only" wdm drivers. It's a bit complicated.
But here you have all the vid and pid codes of the DDJ-SX2 so it would be easy to rewrite a Mapping Template for the DDJ-SX2

ASIO4ALL would me my last choice. And actually i would try to uninstall that driver and try to find an alternative solution for the Timecodes.
So, if you select the ASIO Pioneer driver in the Audio tab for e.g. the Master and hit apply, it only shows Output chanels at the right side (in the area that shows the samples and other info) ? Not soemthing like 4out 4in ?
If the ASIO driver indeed only provides output channels, can you try to use the WASAPI for the Inputs and the ASIO for the Outputs ?

After launching Serato DJ and DVS Plugin the drivers are only changed for WASAPI mode of the DDJ-SX2. I can't access the ASIO Settings anymore.
So ASIO4ALL is for me the way to play with only 1ms latency and i think it has improved since version 2.
Of course it works also with WASAPI Mode alone without ASIO4ALL but the latency is not that good, the feeling is more loose on the TTs.
Here are my Settings:
DDJ-SX2 with the standard driver:
DDJ-SX2 2In2Out in WASAPI Mode
DDJ-SX2 2In2Out with ASIO4ALL v2
How can i access the DDJ-SX2 in 2In2Out Mode as a Midi-Controller?

Hmm it seems that the new firmware update changed the pid of both the Audio and MIDI.
Made a change in the mapping files. Please try with builds ending at .837 or higher.

no need to try with the beta build. The public one would be good enough. You just need to launch , wait for a few minutes in order the contollers version (the last 3 digits of the build) to be updated and re-launch.
So both 2003.837 and 2013.837 or even any other xxxx.837 would be good enough

I just installed the build 2013.838 and it seems to work.
I can now play with Timecode and Midi the same time.
I'll Test it more deeply later that day. Thanks!

No ASIO4All needed any more, DVS in VDJ works very smooth with the DDJ-SX2.
Here is how to unlock the 2IN2OUT Mode of the DDJ-SX2 without bying the DVS Plugin from Serato on Windows.
open: regedit.exe
go to: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Serato\SeratoDJ
change the value of "dvs_plugin_enabled" from "0" to "1"
open Serato DJ -> then the driver will be updated to 2IN2OUT Mode
Now you can run 2 decks with Timecode in VDJ8 with the Pioneer DDJ-SX2
More informations about this and a little Video:

This works with nothing but the pioneer SX2 or for the SX ??? And for Mac users that serious procedure ??

DVS is simply not possible with the SX, the SX2 has a different soundcard build in.

Yes it is possible. I have an SX2 and use it with VDJ 8. It's a natively supported controller.
Of course you will need to buy a license.
