Hello,
i would like to map my Korg Nano Pad.
First i created a Samplbank and i put the samples at the different pads in the pad view.
The problem is that the samples are shown in the pad view with the correct number, but do not respond as they should.
For example, the Sample on "sampler_pad 9" runs when i push the "sampler_pad 6"
i tried different mappings for the Korg nano Pad but it seems that its more a problem in VDJ itself. Can anybody help me out?

Your actions should be like this:
<map value="PAD1" action="sampler_pad 1" />
<map value="PAD2" action="sampler_pad 2" />
<map value="PAD3" action="sampler_pad 3" />
<map value="PAD4" action="sampler_pad 4" />
<map value="PAD5" action="sampler_pad 5" />
e.t.c.

Also you should define the buttons with the order they appear on the pad view.
First define the top row 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8
Then second row 9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16
And you should have the sampler visible in pads view in order to press the correct pad. Don't look the numbers. Just look for the same position on the pads matrix

Oh dear, is this still happening?
The samples jump around onto different pads/slots depending on the size of the sampler window.
If you load samples to pads 1 to 9, they should stay on pads 1-9, not move around so that 6-8 are blank and samples 6-8 become 9-12.
This was reported a long time ago by myself and djtouchdan.

This is exactly what i already tried.
As long as there are free sample slots on the pad the slots it does not work correctly. So when i fill up these slots with a audio file that contains "silence" it works correctly.
It must be an issue of VDJ itself that you cannot leave some pads of the sampler empty.
For Example the Sample Pad 9 is mapped to Button36
But when i press Pad 9 it plays the sound of the Sampler Pad 12 wich is mapped to Button42.
When i hover with the cursor over the sampler pad it also shows my correct mapping.
Mapping upper row (from left to right) buttons:
37 39 41 43 45 47 49 51
Lower row (from left to right) buttons:
36 38 40 42 44 46 48 50

That is exactly my issue here.
Where is the trhead to your problem so i could read the old facts and maybe add my problems there.

Not sure if it'll help fixing your problem, but did you try to set the sample columns to a fixed size with the setting "samplerForceNbColumns"

yes.
samplerForceNbColumns is set to 8
samplerForceNbColumns is set to 8

let the view on automatic, don't choose 8 columns
or don't put sampler_pad, use only sampler_play_stutter
sampler_pad 1
sampler_play_stutter 1
juan

sampler_pad actions work well if the Matrix (Rows, Columns, sides) is defined properly. http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/ControllerDefinitionMIDIv8.html
So, if you try to do this with a Simple Midi device,i dont think that you will get anywhere with these.
You will probably have to create a proper definition. http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Controller_Definition.html
Btw, which Korg NanoPad is this ? the II version ?
PS. If you want any help to create a proper definition file for this unit, send me a pm.

Thanks for your help.
Yes its the NanoPad2 and i just mapped it via the simple Midi Device in VDJ.
So i'll try to write proper device file and test it again.
