Whenever i am connected with the mobile app, i get a circle of death on the macbook for 45 sec - 90 sec before VDJ responds. I cannot do anything during this time. This only happens when the mobile app is in engaged, and happens 9 out of 10 times when it's engaged.

Seems like it resolved itself after two updates.
