I want to use this feature but I don't have the icon in the list on the left side of VDJ 8. How do I get it? Doesn't seem to be an addon.

Try to check in browser option (the small dot on the left) and then check root element, I think its there ;-)
 
yay that did it! I just clicked Reset Root Folders and it's there. Thanks so much.
