i think the next step should be DMX controll so we can program our lights straight within VDJ
why not? :-)
we can do visuals now with plugins like telly media / visuals
basically VDJ is a bit like a simpler version of resolume, so i think a really awesome step forward would be to improve the video / visuals functionality, and extend that to DMX, so that we can then program our light shows so that we can coordinate them with the visuals and also adjust our lights to our music all inside VDJ !!

You're several years too late to the party mate!
Just look for the Freestyler plugin and there are tutorials on Youtube on how to set it up.
