It is meant to be used if you forgot to mix and the current song ended.
It will then start playing the other deck and ensure the volume of that deck is up.
Or if a deck is already playing but doesn't have level or crossfader set then move the levels or crossfader to make it audible.

Ok, really intriguing at first, with ALT key opening shortcut keyboard and Alt-space mapped as emergency_play
keyboard_shortcuts : trying to lock by script does not work as it reads the ALT key status
repeat_start kbdlock ? repeat_stop kbdlock : repeat_start kbdlock 170ms -1 & keyboard_shortcuts
NEW KEYBOARD DRIVER /MAPPER is really not great, still needs work
The new keyboard engine make many key not mappable anymore
SHIFT+NUMx does not exist because NUM kills shift
CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+NUM
same apply to AltGR killing shift too
no way to use "shift ?" in mapping ALTGR or NUM keys
and AltGR is not stable flashing between RIGHT ALT or ALT + CTRL
key combination need order or kills each other
A+CTRL is CTRL not CTRL+A and so on
CTRL + RIGHT SHIFT is RIGHT SHIFT
RIGHT SHIFT + CTRL is SHIFT+CTRL
finally, combinations specially with ALTGR are not clearly released
typing SHIFT+ALT+A only release correctly if ALT release before SHIFT
