it seems that a lot of songs don't have the waveform in the browser, is there certain criteria that produce those waveforms?

Loading them on the deck.
If you enable experimentalBeatAnalyzer they will also be saved when analyzing tracks.
This will be standard in the next update.

Where is the setting to see the waveform in the browser? Its only coming up in Automix that I can tell.

It's a column that you can enable just like any other column
But like posted above it will only show content if the tracks have been previously loaded to a deck, and then (I think) after the following VDJ restart
Like posted above I think there will be improvement regarding when they are available for each track
But for your regular tracks it won't matter much, because their browser list waveform will already just work
