Cue pads are are the 1st button on the ddj-rz/sz/ etc. They keep changing to loop roll or other pad functions when loading a deck.

I'm not sure this is the issue in your case
But the confusing part about pads and pad pages are sometimes realizing that you are actually changing what the selector buttons do when just temporarily testing out a new pad page from the drop down, because VDJ has pad page slots, which may not be easy to see

It's a bit backwards compared to what you are saying, but still kind of explains about pad pages slots, and how to check what your are currently having set up
Can that explain what you are seeing ?
