We have all sound being played from rekordbox through the rzx but no sampler sounds. Everything else plays fine. Rekordbox has exclusive use of the rzx. The stream audio comes via a scarlet 2i2 which take the analogue signal from the rzx, (no laptop involved I have dedicated stream PC ) / drivers reinstalled. The only update was windows. I would be grateful for any advice

In that case we can't really help you much. We are not exactly familiar with how Rekordbox DJ handles it's samper and the audio routing.
We can provide only some geeral information regarding the device.
In your case the only thing we can tell you is that if samples are audible on your main speakers they should pass to your streaming too.
Also RZX has a dedicated "sampler volume" knob. Try to increase that knob as well. And try to use "internal mixer mode" with Rekordbox DJ if it offers such ability
