sometimes, while I'm recording, the sound will abruptly cut out on both channels. the only way to get the sound back is to change the levels. this is terribly bothersome since I'm trying to record long mixes. anyone know anything about this?

I had that problem (with the full version!). It was due to the screensaver options of windows 98 SE : do not allow your hard to shut down or to have less power... (sorry but I don't remember the name of this option in english).
