This would be a great feature when things get very busy. I use two systems - both running VDJ and try to always have three tracks ready and one playing. Sometimes I get a little confused (ahem - drinking) and lose track of which queued tracks I played and which are still waiting on a deck. So if the little red icon didnt change to red until AFTER I hit play for that track, then I would always know. Even better, would be some indicator on the deck itself that the track has been played already. like maybe a circle with diagnal line through it?

could also try not drinking a gig ^^
