I played at a 30th b-day party last friday night, and I learned something about my turntables that I probably already should have known :P
I hooked everything up, but my right deck wasn't gettting any TCV signal! I thought it was grounding (I had forgotten to bring my power-conditioner that takes care of that) so I ran home, hunted it down and came back. It was still having the problem!! It would play the mp3 at 0%, but scratching and mixing was out of the question.
I was about to freak out when I noticed the tone arm counterbalance was almost all the way off. It must have come loose during transport, and now there was barely any pressure on the stylus. I screwed it in, and voila!!! 100%!
I smacked my forehead.
The gig went really well, I just thought that was funny.
I learned to always inventory my gig bag, and if I can't get a signal, check to tone arm counterbalance.

I used to get the same problem with Final Scratch. I remember version 1 which only ran from TCV, you couldn't even play MP3s by clicking the mouse so it was lucky if I could ever get it to work!
