Tópico: How good really is the DAC-3??

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

The DAC-3 has been out a good while now and quite a few people here got one, judging by past posts.

There were a few negative comments about the quality when they first came out.

Has anybody any updates they would like to give after using one for a while.

I heard that the displays don't work when using VDJ or Traktor, only with pcdj. Is this true??

Love it.
Also have a dac 2 and played on it the other night.....wow what a difference.

I recently bought another one on ebay new in box for $348 delivered.

The photos linked to from the post above show the display working I think.

Do they work with VDJ? If so I'm going to get one today.

some what i want one lol

Yes, the displays and lighted buttons all work with VDJ thanks to native support. This wasn't the case in the past when MIDI needed to be used, which does not allow working displays and button lights (This is probably why they do not work in Traktor.)

With my custom mapper, the DAC-3 responds and functions just like a dual-CD player, such as Numark CDN-88. You can control a number of VDJ features directly from the controller, such as file browsing, loops, samples, FX and video (Including automatic crossfading.)

Pitch and jogwheel precision is very good, but the jogwheels are not touch-sensitive, so if scratching is important, XP10's or TCV/TCCD might be a better choice. The buttons are good quality rubber buttons, similar to what you would find on a decent CD player. The DAC-3 itself is made out of metal and can be rackmounted, so is ideal for mobile use.

Thanks jpboggis . I'm grateful for people like you who can help with these things. This is what makes VDJ great.

So am I right in thinking that the displays and lights won't work on a DAC-2? They are on Sale at the moment in the UK for about £50 off.

display and buttons work fine on DAC2 with vdj (except of 2 leds we are not able to control as user Daniels complained) he made quite usable mapper for it, that enhances the possibilities with usage.
e.g. effects loops cues ...

Thanks to the downloadable mapper I'm really thrilled and happy of this controller. Any other controller can't really compete with this one. Bought this one six months ago, and compared to a new dual cd player out there on the market, the DAC-3 is cheap and a more versatile tool.

Got to hand it to VDJ and jpboggis. The DAC-3 works really well with VDJ.
