Ok Guys,
I think im going to be getting this soundcard for use with a laptop, external mixer and virtual dj pro - but do i need pre-amps?
Also, is the sound quality good with the maya 44 or would you recommend another soundcard?
Is there any latency?
Whats the difference between virtual dj and the virtual dj pro?
Thanks!

Maya44 USB is great sound card with great quality of sound. With ASIO drivers has very low latency and you won't need any preamplifier. Just connect it to external mixer. You will be able even to record your mix using line in at maya44.
Virtual DJ in a program, but it has few versions. LITE version is called Home edition and FULL version is called PRO version. See the ling below for differences in those 2 versions:

You can use TCCDs or vinyls with cd-players/turntables with maya44 too.

Thanks man,
i looked at the comparison table, regarding TCV's, do you nedd an adapter? What is that?
Also, if i was to use TCV' s, is it in the same league as serato?
Thanks again

To use TCVs you will need only at least one turntable and TC vinyl. That's all (if you get maya44 of course). And VDJ PRO version is needed too.
TCVs work actually the same as Serato and they will work even better in VirtualDJ version 4 (comming soon)!

Thanks Xeon.
One last thing (i think)........
What wires/cables do I need for:
a) just maya 44 with an external mixer (numark dxm 06)
b) TCV setup with turntables
Thanks again

a) 2 stereo RCA (cinch) cables
b) 2 more stereo RCA cables ;)
And some cables to hook up your external mixer to the amplifier or speakers.

I just want a quick question answered, please :D
I know that Maya44 is very good (but hard to find), but, if I dont plan to use TCV/CD, then, is it what i need?
Or could i pay less (or the same) for a soundcard that has no extra inputs but does have a better sound quality?
If so, then what soundcards would you recommend? (about (or lower than) the price of a Maya44)
Thanks in advance,
Dj Joe/Joaquin

If you want to have good quality, just go to some more expensive sound cards, PCMCIA or USB / firewire. It just have to have 2 stereo out and one stereo in for recording.

maya 44 is simply the ideal asio soundcard (as the esi46dj or the hercules mk2) to use with TCVs and TCCDs. for the time being, if you want to have 2 stereo out with good quality you have to follow the advices of xeon. it's all. bye
