I came across this website and it seems like your typical p2p network but its not. It uses some binary search across the net. You can find basically anything you want with a small subscription fee and its super fast. Has a free trial offer which will cost you $1 dollar however for verification purposes.
You can find any sort of dj remixes you like... promo, funky, wicked, mastermix... u name it, its there.

Ah, overpriced simplified usenet. For a better service check out www.giganews.com, personally I'm with NewsDemon (not as good as GigaNews) because they take paypal, maxes out my connection, consistant 1400KBps downloads.

Try again, they must've been having web server problems. I use them as well. 10mps sustained transfer on my cable connection. :)

excellent, illegal downloads. i don't have much of a problem with people downloading illegal, BUT as dj's who are making money from the scene, it's wrong. I hope all djs with cd wallets full of illegal copies get fined heavily at some point in thier careers.

Newsgroups are older than the internet as we know it and are a form of discussion as well. There are illegal downloads available on it but where is this not the case. You're actually much less likely to find all sorts of music using newsgroups than p2p too so don't worry; what you will find is usually commercial new releases which people have started uploading to sites such as rapidshare anyway.

It does matter because Atomix team could have problems that you put those links here! I have many direct download links for music, everyone can find it but I didn't post it here because it is against the rules! Mods will say the final word ;)

There's no point trying to justify it, it is damaging the scene. Sure, the pop industry probably isn't affected that badly, but smaller scenes (i.e. house music) is seriously taking a blow now. Artists that once were selling 4000-5000 records are now only able to shift 700 or 800. This means that they are less likely to bring musicians into the studio, and are gonna try and cut costs elsewhere. That's one of the reasons for the huge electro take over at the minute, as well as the overdone 80s loop. Thank god there's still producers willing to put the effort in even with the smaller rewards.
Don't think I'm trying to preach to you, you do what you like but don't go round on forums trying to make out that it's ok, and that you're doing nothing wrong because everyone does it.

dc++ and other p2p are probably a lot more damaging to house music than newsgroups, irc even more so.
but if you are after dance music you should be looking at sites like the following:

yeah, beatport's got a lot of good content. unfortunately the design and usability let's it down but it can be worth it. also, www.traxsource.com and www.stompy.com are fantastic.
