Tema: I need help with sound to you pros out there...

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

... First off, is there a setting that makes all the sound levels even like a compressor or something? I was DJ ing last night and some songs came in quietly and some were way too loud... Also, is there a way, now that I can play music videos with AC3 audio, that the sound quality could be improved... The sound from those videos are very faint and tinny... Please and thank you in advance for any help... DJ Eddie

there is a setting in vdj ;but u would hve to let the somg load completely b4 bringing it in to mix it (so it can read /analize volume). a faster way of doing this would be using mp3 gain ;

this is a free program and even worth payin for ...
http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/download.php
this way you can still mix songs as soon as u load them cause they will b already @ the same level (no need to analize em ).where are u getting ur vids from ? maybe use a video editing program to bring up the volume( sound forge does this also; thers a free demo version but dont know if it's limited or not)

hope this helps

for videos ..try this demo out......

The Encoder offers a simple as well as a professional interface. The latter enables experts to perfect both their video and audio streams by adjusting a great number of settings and parameters, including the bitrate, in order to obtain high-quality results for professional production environments.

Be very careful with the Auto-Gain though depending on what type of music you are playing. Seems to have a little trouble with tracks that have some sub-bass. I've had some hip-hop tracks bottom out from the gain being set too high when the bass kicks in.

yea ..i usually keep it @ the default 89.0 ;as long as everythings the same level, u can always turn up amp or mixer main volume if it's not loud enough ;-)

hers is where you can try out soundforge demo also :http://www.sonymediasoftware.com/download/step2.asp?DID=559

but like dj derricke said

Agree with DJ-ALF, always "0" db with ver 4.
Also be sure is tracks are not already analyzed that you let them completely load first.

Hi,

autogain does the trick most of the time, but if you want a compressor, you can download a VST compressor and use it in VDJ :)

Here's a simple one

The other 2 tools in the pack probably arn't that useful for VDJ, but just download the zip file and copy .dll file to Virtual DJ/Plugins/Sound Effects folder if you fancy giving them a go.

Or there's more complicated ones here:
