I looking to purchase this sound card as I have read in the forums, it seems to be quite popular....Before I purchase this soundcard,,,once installed I can feed rca singals into my mixer and be able to control the sound of deck one and than deck two as two separate channels? So that means i can cue and hear the next deck? This can be done with just ESI U46DJ?

As an alternative,,,if you buy the controller like dac 1, 2, 3 that means you can controll virtual dj functions but without a ESI U46DJ u still cant hear the next song....

My understanding of ESI U46DJ, is it right? Would it do what Iam looking for?

I just want to hear the next deck and have each deck on virtual dj as a separete channel on my mixer...

any input would be appreciated,,,,thank you

Yes you are correct.
The Esi u46dj has 6 mono outputs (3 stereo). So you could attach stereo output 1 to channel 1 of your mixer. Stereo output 2 will then be attached to channel 2 of your mixer. You could attach output 3 to channel 3 of your mixer (if your mixer has more than 2 channels). You could prelisten on your mixer like you are using 2 cd decks or 2 turntables. Deck 1 in VDJ will be on channel 1 of your mixer and so on. The 3rd channel could be used for samples.
Besides the Esi you could attach an external controller, like the dac to control vdj. The dac controllers do not have builtin sound cards, so you would need an additional soundcard (like the Esi u46dj).
