This is a call out to all the DJs using VDJ in Australia, just interested in how many are actually out there and where they're playing.
That, and wondering if anyone could help me out by telling me how they got a hold of a copy and how much it cost them, as from what I've seen, it doesn't really get sold around here...
Btw, im from VIC..

G'day,

good to see a another aussie here... (although i live in the usa now... i lived in sunshine 3020 for 20 + yrs.) as for VDJ, the easiest way would be to buy it online. i bought a year ago and have been recieving updates ever since. best dj investment ever!

might wanna lookup the australian Numark distributor and see if they are shipping copies of CUE and or Virtual Vinyl. other stores that come to mind

- DMC records
- Central Station
- Allans music

hope this helps.
Cheers.

hey mate,

im from belgrave 3160. i purchased my vdj a while back off this website. i have been using vdj just to make mixed cds and do some parties for friends. just started getting into house music and stuff and wanted to check it out. not sure where in vic you would be able to get it so i reckon just purchase it from vdj itself.

cheers

Hi I DJ in SA Vic and NSW and have been for nearly 30 years.VDJ is great but does cost around $400 aus.

The problem with using a computer to play your music, is that in Australia, it is illegal to copy your discs and video. This is even if you own the tracks

The extract below is taken from the AMCOS web site
Transferring Music (e.g. LP to CD)
Many people wish to transfer their music collection into a more convenient (and durable) format. For example:
an individual may wish to put their LP collection onto CD; there are also companies that provide this service for clients;
DJs may need to copy their LP or CD collection onto a PC or other device for ease of portability; and
businesses now copy music onto iPODs or other devices in order to provide their background music.
The transferring of music from one format to another in these circumstances is not exempt from copyright.

On the ARIA web site it specificly exclude DJ's from copyng onto computer, CD or any other compilation system.

If you work in a club or pub you run the real risk of heavy fines. I suspect that this is why VDJ is not huge in Australia. However there is a way for your club to buy VDJ, and get licensed music. If you wish to email me directly I will send you the info.

Cheers
