Are you serious? i just bought my vinyls like a month ago and now they are obsolete? :(

It's been pretty well known and talked about on these forums for well over a month now that new TCV's where being pressed.

I remember seeing it first posted around or not too long after Christmas and definitely by New Years, so it's been common knowledge for almost 2 months now.

Anewsome, Your enthusiasm is to say the least refreshing! Do you now consider the Virtual DJ Timecoded Vinyl experience, comparable to that of SSL?

It's pretty damn close and a lot closer now with these gen3 vinyls. There's still some mis-features of vdj itself but that's no fault of the TCV. The TCV are certainly up to snuff now. No complaints.

wow.. what happened?

The 3rd gen have a louder signal, so make sure that gain/preamp is all the way down.

But auto-config sound set the desired level

Any luck yet?

Great, can't wait to get some :).

WWWWWWHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYY ????????????

Make sure you are not on the lead in groove there is not time code signal there.

sounds pretty dumb, but you never know................

The lead in is very large, it could easily be mistaken, auto config is best done in the center of the record with the pitch on the turntable locked at 0.

***FOUND THE PROBLEM***

Make sure before you buy the new GEN3 to have the needles in very good shape...NO JOKE !!!
I have two pairs of needles witch i use randomly every weekend with my old TCV's and they work perfect at 100% signal everytime. I tried to use them on the new GEN3 and i get only a big 0%.
Then i went and get one cheap replacement needle and i get... guess what....100% signal.
I don't know what type of sensitive signal is being recorded on the new vinyl but this is what i found out today, after pulling my hair trying all the settings possible.

So....when you starting to have a bad time code signal on the new GEN3 vinyl you MUST replace your needle.

This is the first I've heard of this. We tested the following needles

digi-track (excellent needle)

shure sm-44

shure white lablel

not sure what anewsome is using we tested on numark ttx500, 1200's and a cheap gemini.

thats just great to hear.... Comming from such an experiences VDJ and SSL user as you, that sure means a lot.

And hope to see 4.3 or 4.4 take the last step up needed ;)

anewsome uses Ortofon Q-Bert (concord) or Shure M-447s both seem to work fine. However if your needles are not concord style and they are mounted on headshells, I've found that angling them works better (better tracking, better signal) than mounting them striaght up.

ahmen to that, 17 or 22 degrees inside correction, althout i ave found this to confuse the 'auto-config', when using my gen1s, sometimes resulting in 0% at the start to 100% at the end, just have to make sure you auto config (or manualy calibrate) in the middle of the playing time.

Hey guys just wondering if anyone knows when the Gen 3 vinyls are coming to Australia... this may or may not be a silly question, but the truth is i have no idea where Australia is included, in the Europe category or what?

:)

Yea. Don't leave Australia out! lol

From everyone here, it seems as if we have a top product. Would be good to try it out.

When I get money haha

SAME PROBLEM

I just received my GEN3's 3 days ago and i'm going crazy...
I have 3 Stanton cartridges:
Trackmaster 2 (black one)
Craze 520 (white stylus)
500 2 (clear stylus)

They all working with 100% TC on the GEN1 and GEN2, but on the GEN3 only the Trackmaster2 works.
I did change the stylus for 520/500 with new ones same thing 0% TC and also the message "no time code found, please check cables, bla, bla".
WHAT'S GOING ON... I WANT TO USE THE GEN3 TONIGHT.

I took a closeup picture at the wires behind the cartridge, see pictures bellow.
What could be the difference on sound between the Trackmaster 2 and 520/500 and why working on GEN2 and not working on GEN3 (different timecode???)

Nobody can answer this ?

we are on it ;)

Can you go to msn?

3 people working on it.

Hi I have a Stanton DiscMaster II. Does anybody tryed it with TCV Gen3. I want to buy TCV Gen3, but if I cannot get them to work with DiscMaster II I will wait for this to be fixed...

Thanks

my first thing would be to ask if you read the part about angling the cart on the headshell. i can't tell from your pictures whether they are angled or not. would need a top shot oh the headshell for that.
