Hello everyone. Since Vista is a fairly new os, I decided it would best to make a little video series on the topic.
Volume One
(sorry about the shaky cam, I seem to of misplaced my tripod)
Karaoke zips don't play in vista with 4.3.
This is simply untrue. I have about 60,000 zips that play just fine. Here's the video proof.
I'll be adding more to this series as I see the rumors and misinformation spread.

Cyder,
Are you loading them from the recordcase or from explorer? I cannot get zips to show up in the browser window at all but can drag and drop them from explorer and all works fine. I had to go through a funky work around to get the tracks into my browser.

Loading them right from vdj's browser. Here's what I did.
1. go to reg edit, and put a 1 by search in path
2. scan karaoke drive (quick)
3. add zip to the extensions list in codac's no need for a . just zip will do.
4. go to local database and type .zip in the search bar
5. hit control a to select all your zips
6. drag them to the playlist
7. make a virtual folder from the playlist
thats it, I don't try to pull the tracks up thru the file tree as it takes too long. But this method works great for me. By making a virtual folder you have a directory of karaoke files, so when you search it you only get karaoke results. I've done Virtual folders for my audio, video and karaoke. Works great and no browser freeze this way either.

In a roundabout way I had already done what you are saying and all is fine. I still cannot get it to work in treeview (slow or not), it attempts to make each zip part of the tree!
