My vidoes have a large yellow line running down the center, it only does this in VDJ, not windows media player........what could be the problem?

Your video card is either shared memory or not up to the task for VDJ. Are you running XP or Vista?? I have heard that Vista helps some computers that cant run VDJ on XP. What are your system specs??

Looks as if you may be in trouble, you could try runnin Vista instead of XP, but please look in your device manager and let me know what card you have in your system (graphics).

....ok, I look under "system Devices" in my Device Manager, I dont see anything that says "graphics" where else could it be??

Is this XP or Vista?? If it is XP in device manager look under Display Adapter.

Its the graphic card, I'm sorry to say.
I had exacly the same problem.
It seems to be related to a particular file type ( codec ) & the intel graphic card.
When i changed to a laptop with ATI, the yellow bar went away.

The yellow line can also be caused by not having the latest gfx card installed, having a gfx card that doesn't support hardware acceleration, not having hardware acceleration enabled and also not having the very latest directx.
Many people wrongly believe they have the latest directx installed because they have 9C installed, this is NOT the case as directx does incremental updates sometimes as often as monthly. Windows update does not install these patches. I use the redist version for XP, the latest one is Feb 2007 and can be found here :-

@Mods I think a sticky should be made regarding this direcx issue as it would stop a number of questions from being asked. I know some plugins wouldn't work without the very latest version, I think Cel is aware of this one.

Where do i place the extracted files after downloading
Mensajes Sat 07 Apr 07 @ 7:25 pm
It doesn't matter. When you download the redist version it's just an executed unzip, so just extract it to a folder on the desktop. Within the extracted files is an install file. Once you've installed you can delete the folder if you like or store it somewhere for backup purposes.

Happy to say......NO MORE YELLOW LINE!!!!!!!!!
I ripped my music video DVD's using ImToo DVD Ripper Software....called the company and asked about the yellow line, they suggested ripping to this:
Super Video CD Format (*.vob)
I did and the videos are absolutely perfect.....scratching is right on, full picture, great sound, almost high def looking on my 37" LCD screen....its really amazing considering my video card is sub standard for VDJ....video transitions are right on as well...
YIPEE!!!!......If anyone wants the specs on the rip let me know
