Is anyone using the My12inch videos? I can't get them to play and before I try multiple things I wanted to see if anyone was using the videos from this site and had any input on what I should do to get them to play/convert them. I believe I seen someone (i think jchiar) explain how to get them to work, but didnt find the thread.
They come as an MPEG 4 Movie file. Any Ideas?

I hate the term MPEG 4 . Its very confusing. The container file can use a codec for MPEG 4, DIVX or H264. If you open them in Quicktime and select WINDOW, Movie info- What is the format shown?
Should be something like
H.264 Decoder, 852 x 480, Millions
AAC, Stereo (L R), 48.000 kHz
or
DivX 6.0, 640 x 480, Millions
MPEG Layer 3, Stereo, 44.100 kHz
or
Apple MPEG4 Decompressor, 640 x 480, Millions
AAC, Stereo (L R), 44.100 kHz
1st , Which one do you have?
2nd, If you add the DIVX extension to use the internal video decoder, this works fine.
3rd IF the video is mpeg4 quicktime or H264, the Quciktime Video Codec doesnt seem to work that I have seen.
If anythings unclear or someone can clarify better, please do!

Ok, this is what it says in quicktime:
Apple MPEG4 Decompressor, 720 x 480, Millions
AAC, Stereo (L R), 44.100 kHz
Obviously I need to change the format to something that works with Cue or there is yet another problem with the Mac version.
I just wanted to see if someone has been using my12inch and has done this/what has worked for them.

Just curious. I checked out the My12inch website... seems pretty light on information. Is there any way to view their library without becoming a member first? How's their 80's video selection? I'd rather not spend the money on a membership blindly... only to find they only have modern hip-hop videos... no offense.

Yeah the site is very....light on information until you join. I was personally quite disapointed in their selection. There are no 80's. No Rock. Very little (I mean very little) Dance. The $50 gets you access to like roundabout 300-500 videos, I downloaded about 80, the rest were garbage. Mostly pretty hard Rap videos. I wouldn't even call them Hip Hop. There are other videos but you have to pay $1.99 for those!!! I got a few MP3's and the 80 vids so $50 wasn't bad but it wasn't what I assumed it was going to be.
My 2 cents rhettnificent...If your not looking for Urban Music. Don't Join.

Yes this format is unfortunately a KNOWN issue with Mac version. I feel for you all. This was where i hoped the Mac version would excell, at Mac video files. But we have heard that this issue will be fixed..
As a side note, a fix for you would be to use VisualHub http://www.techspansion.com/visualhub/
to convert the MP4's to Divx files.
Divx files are known to play nicely and suggested by some on the TEAMERS here.
You can BATCH convert all your files in one shot by dragging them ALL to Visualhub and let them convert them one after another with one click!
Visualhub rocks, i use it all the time. very easy, fast and cheap <23$ i think...

ffmpeg and mplayer are both free and are pretty much swiss army knives of video conversion. with those two tools you can convert pretty much anything to anything, with very high quality and total control. they're both very scriptable for automation as well.
