Here's an idea,

Port VDJ to Linux (maybe we can accomplish this on windows)
Create a list a standard supported hardware
Build an automated install proceedure that completely installs and configures a
machine for Virtual DJ Only,

Installs OS
Costumizes the OS
Optimizes Device Drivers
Installs Virtual DJ
Optimizes Virtual DJ for the present hardware.

i do have guides for converting a machine to this on my blog for now u may wish to try

the changes are simple and i would imagine they could be incorporated into an installer as an option

I will take a look at your blog.

it's just to get VDJ to work perfect it needs a little tuning
even on the faster machines. but once you have it to that point it's a dream!

thanks,

Gavin.

I think there's a market for club owners
that want to setup there's own system,
All the DJ needs to bring in a USB Drive

most definately

for the example of dmx at some of the big public events i work at

instead of using a dmx controler they use a dedicated box with a touch screen built into the case

to control all the lights

the same exists as a digital mixer ,

Digital music mixer

uhhhhhh......... i don't know a lot of club owners and managers , but the ones i know are not very professional or educated .........

it would require enough business sense to calculate and conclude that a reasonable (not huge) investment such as we are contemplating would a be a good thing , definitely in the short term

such things do go from cutting edge to something less in a short period ......requiring a further commitment one in which you have a policy concerning how much and how frequently you update your
building and equipment/ infrastructure ...........

i don't know any owners and mgrs even close to that ........

so i'm sticking with ..... it's a good idea but i think it has very little market
